I have not slept through the night since we had our son. He is well into his threes. He still wakes several times a night to nurse.

Yes, I could wean him or get him his own bed in our room. I just don't want to. I love the benefits to both of us from nursing but totally resent that I am the only person who can get him to sleep for the night (DH can if I am out of the house...maybe twice or three times since he's been born). I am also the only way he can get back to sleep when he wakes in the night. I have been able to cut him back some on the length of nighttime nursings, but I am still up a few times a night.

If I made him a nice bed on the floor in our room, I guarantee I'd wind up on the floor or just pulling him back to bed with us.

"It's only a phase" isn't cutting it anymore. DH would probably do more to help, but our little guy is essentially allergic to him after the sun goes down.

Just needed to vent. greensad.gif

sleepytime.gif I got tired of my signature, but I still love my children and husband and miss my little brotherkid.gif

You will make a change when it is right for you. We all feel conflicted about our choices sometimes. I think that is very normal.
