Hello all. I have a question. My 15 month old daughter is a comforter nurser! Which is ok some of the times. But at night it is killing me! She nurses ALL night long. (Almost quite literally!) So much so that my nipples are kinda sore. She holds onto them while she rolls over, twists, turns, you name it. And I am getting little to no sleep lately. I am getting irritable because I am so exhausted. (My poor hubby) But the only thing she wants is "boobie" And will settle for nothing less. I don't want to wean her completely just get it minimal at night! An suggestions!?

I've always like Dr. Jay Gordon's advice:

SAHM to DS BuggaBoo blahblah.gif  12/07, and DD Doozer energy.gif03/10.  Sharing life with The Hubby since 01/05.

Hi Danielle. Welcome to Mothering!

There's a Mama Led Weaning Support thread here. I suggest you post there and see if you can get some helpful ideas for night weaning.

Good luck!

I feel your pain.  What I, personally, had to do--and every family is different, so this may not be what works for you--was to just stop nursing between 10pm and 6am.  Bam.  Cold turkey.  Lots of crying at first, then tapering off.  My kids were 10, 16, and 24 months when I did this, and it took longer with each kid.  I don't know if it was a kid-difference or an age-difference.  We were co-sleeping, and we set up our crib side-car to our bed and insisted the kid sleep in it.  I had to have them physically away from me so they would not nurse.  It wasn't easy, but it had to be done.
