There's another thread similar to this but I did not want to hijack it. DS has started rolling onto his tummy in his sleep. Hubby is a tummy sleeper, so maybe it's genetic. I feel better about it when I'm in bed with him, but during the hours he's sleeping and I'm out of the room I'm more nervous. The bed is a pillow top, but we flipped it over so the pillow is on the floor. The underside isn't firm, but it's not pillow top. Would you be ok letting him sleep this way? If not, what do I do...never leave him sleeping alone for fear he'll roll over in sleep? He's just shy of seven months, btw.

It wouldn't worry me. All the SIDS advice I have ever read says that tummy sleeping is much less of an issue when they are adopting that position themselves and that restricting their movement is worse than letting them remain in the position they put themselves in.

Both my girls were able to turn themselves over in their sleep at that age and I let them do it.

Thanks guys! Yeah, he can totally roll back and forth. I just thought the worry was him not waking enough to realize he has to.
