Both my kids are this way. The 6y.o. Has the self discipline to lie still and do some meditation now, but he has to be reminded.

My 15 month old on the other, he will bonk around from one breast to the other, climb on my head, try to back off the bed, squawk, squeal and bite for hours at bed time. I finally figured out 2 nights ago that if i wear him, he'll actually fall asleep in a reasonable amount of time. Before that it was taking me 2+ hours and some tears to get him down. I never did figure this out with DS1, and he was the same way.

Any ideas on how to go about getting the baby to sleep without having to wear him? i think it works because he's pretty much restrained so he has to actually be still for a while. They're both this way in the car too. I'd really like to be able to put the baby to bed in less than 45 minutes.

Have you ever had a kid like this?

Humbly parenting Abraham (1/08), learning to be gentle and creative.  At least I got a good man to hold my hand.  Married to Ben (8/06).

I started giving my son a little massage on his legs, back, and arms and it helped his body settle when going to sleep.
