how to co-sleep with newborn and toddler?

Just wondering how you all do this? My guy will be 3 when baby arrives, and he can be such a wiggle worm all over the bed at night. We have a king size bed with a toddler bed right next to it that I've been trying to get him into, but he nurses to sleep with me and I usually just end up falling asleep with him. The few times I've moved him into his bed, he wakes up later and wants to nurse, so back he comes over to our bed.

What do/did you do?

I just love being a mama to my son born 9/22/2011 and expecting baby early December 2014 joy.gif

Mine have all been 3 when a new babe arives4 so I've done this a few times. pre baby being able to roll over I get then to sleep on the bed then bring baby with me down stairs to sleep on the couch or a nest on the floor until its time to go back upstairs.
Once baby can roll over I feel safer leaving them in bed with a sib until im ready to go to bed.

Sometimes I sleep in between them and sometimes I'm on one side but just like co sleeping with one baby I find I'm very aware of whats going on and wake up momentarily to move an older kid or slide a wandering foot away.

My oldest DD was 2.5yo when DD2 was born. We had a single and queen mattresses pushed together on the floor. DD2 stayed with us until we went to bed. Then DD1 was on the single, DH next to her and I had DD2 on the other side of DH. I would swap sides to feed so sometimes DD2 was in the middle and sometimes she was on the outside.

DD1 would crawl over to feed once a night and I just positioned her away from DD2. Then, when DD2 was 8mo, she and I moved to another room so I could nightwean DD1.
