I FINALLY found what my kids need to fall asleep now that they seem to have rejected nursing to sleep. All I have to do is sit in the room with them and occasionally make shhhing noises. So stinking easy. They sit up, look at me, and lie back down after checking to make sure I am still there.

I am SO relieved. Once the nursing to sleep thing stopped working I was stumped.

It doesn't work if my husband is the one in the room. But, hey, that means he has to clean up the kitchen while I shhhhh and read a book.

Mostly sane mother to twins.

Oh, happy shushing. Isn't it great to find something that works?!!

My twins are still in the nursing to sleep stage, but we've finally managed to achieve a position where they can tandem nurse lying down. I think it works now because, at 2 mos., they've got a little more head control. We're actually sleeping about 6 or 8 hours a night in 2-3 hour intervals. Yippee!

How wonderful for you! I rock/sing ds to sleep every night but many nights that turns into bouncing/shushing.

wow, you are one lucky momma! Good for you ...I'm still longing for that day, since the only way to get DD to sleep is on the boob (or driving, of course ).

How sweet. It's wonderful to find something that works. For DD#1 nursing fixed everything for her. DD#2 was not interested when she was sleepy and grouchy. And she always got grouchy at night. Actually she still isn't that great of sleeper but we have come a loooong way.
