My son had a RIAS IQ test last June through our school board. They called this morning to say he scored a cumulative score if 160. What does this mean? What category of giftedness does this place him in?

I know the RIAS is not a widely recognized test. He also had a full day of testing at a University, however I have not received those results yet.

I appreciate any insight!

I reccomend checking out the Hoagies website. They have a lot of great info and I know they have some IQ break-downs. I personally know nothing about the RIAS accept there are 2 different versions and that the ceiling is 160. That would put your child in the very top percentile for that test. I don't know how it compares to other testing though.

Married mom of two, DD 17 and DS 13.

It means he is profoundly gifted.

I'd second the suggestion of reading as much as you can from Hoagies!
