Hi,
I have a son born 2006. At school he has been running around and had problem to stay in his place. When he was 8, the school psychologist performed a WISC IV. The outcome was this:
GAI: 99.8%
Speed and WM (both about the same): 18%
He has problems to focus but this last year he has started to stay in the class room.
What I have heard is that when especially the WM is low, that often means ADHD is a common diagnose. At the same time, there are those discussions about Dabrovskis 5 overexcitabilities and that they are similair to ADHD.
How could one tell the difference? Are the overexcitabilities accepted among the main stream psycologists?
I'm abit confused.
A couple of weeks ago, he was diagnosed with ADHD. During the discussion with that psycologist, I mentioned the overexcitabilities. She wrote it down but never got back about it.
Any feedback is welcome.
By the way, we live in Sweden.
