My friend has a seven week old baby in the NICU who just got a trach. He has a weak diaphragm and has been vented since birth, although they hope he will wean off the vent soon. She's been pumping and will be able to try to nurse him this week. This is her second baby, and she exclusively nursed her first.
Has anyone had any experience with nursing a baby with a trach? She's working with an LC at the hospital who seems pretty knowledgeable, but any help for the process would be great. Thanks!
