I received this email a few minutes ago:

ear Preemie Magazine Subscribers:

Preemie Communications, Inc., the parent company of Preemie Magazine, regrets to inform you that the company has officially shut down and is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings.

This is an unfortunate outcome for such a promising community, but a necessary one due to the inability to attract new owners/investors to cover expenses and debts. The company is truly saddened by this turn of events, but would like to thank you, as a subscriber, for helping us fulfill our mission in educating so many parents and professionals in the preemie community over the last two years.

Respectfully,

Preemie Magazine/Preemie Communications, Inc.

I recieved that e-mail today, too! Kinda sad; in the NICU pumping room all there was to read was Preemie Mag, and I found it to be helpful.

It is a shame. Overall, the mag was pretty good. I was worried about the publication, though, when Preemie Con was canceled. I also noticed they didn't have many "big" advertisers. Advertising is how mags make money.

We can hope, I suppose, that someone else will come along and create a similar magazine with better success.

I was wondering about that preemie con and if it ran. But they didnt really say who it was for- parents, Drs, children whoever.

That is really sad to hear. I wonder why they never charged for subscription as well - I would have paid for it -

It's sad - I hope they make an impact on the major parenting magazines to do justice to preemies in their articles.
