I'M HAVING TWINS!!! :

eeeek! I need to share my joy and excitement.

The ring/needle test (as my mother taught it to me) is when you thread a needle or your wedding ring and hold it over you forearm (underside up).

So I was amusing myself one day and did the test.

First it moved in a circle then stopped. That means a girl, we already have dd, so that's right.

Then it moved side to side (boy) but *without stopping* went right into a circle (girl).

I didn't understand what that meant, so I asked my mom. Now I'm a fraternal twin, have a twin brother. My mom says that's what the ring test does for her: goes from one to the other without stopping to indicate her boy/girl twins. Whereas my aunt, for instance, who has a girl and boy 3 years apart, it stops in between.

Huh.

Well I went to my doc yesterday for an appointment and didn't think mcuh was going to get checked since I'm only 9 weeks. But since we're due to transfer soon (military family), he said he wanted to check things out before I travel.

The ultrasound shows 2 sacs!!!!!!!!!! 2 babies!!!

That explains the severe morning sickness this time around!

DD was in the office with me and saw the babies and said "See, mommy? I told you there were 2 babies, not one." She has been saying that since day one, but I just thought she was copying Dora the Explorer (Dora has a twin brother and sister).

If the ring test is totally accurate (and it's been so far it seems!) that means I'm having a boy and girl. But as long as they are healthy, I don't care if it's 2 of each or one and one.

EEk! Eek! Eek! Thanks so much for letting me share my joy!!

WOW! That is SO EXCITING!

I'm very excited to be pregnant, but I can't imagine how thrilling it would be to have two babies in there!

Not much chance of that for me, so I'll just live vicariously through you lucky mamas!

Yay! Congratulations! Looks like we're twin buddies!

It's a trip, learning there's not just one in there, isn't it?

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Second of all, I just did the ring test as you described and I got the same result as you, so I tried it over my uterus as I've seen it done more commonly and it did the same thing.... that would be sooooo cool if it was right for me too.

Anyone else try it yet?

That would be cool!!! Re: the ring test. I noticed when I do it over my arm it shows all children: my dd and then the twins for this pg. But when I do it over my belly/uterus, it only notes the twins that are currently in there.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats. I'm still so excited. My belly already looks bigger: a friend who last saw me 2 weeks ago was pretty amazed about it. And something new this time around, I get back pain if I stand too long.
