It seems like it happened overnight. The top of my uterus was really hard today and it seemed like the baby wasn't as active. When I layed down to watch TV I felt him move into a different position and kick a few times and now he's rather quiet again. I know some days he's just more active than others but the ultra hard uterus had me worried for awhile! Has anyone else had this experience? I'm 28 weeks.

I have somewhat had the same thing on and off. It started around 20 weeks right after my ultrasound - my uterus would feel tight toward the middle of the day and stay that way until the next morning. It was like my skin was stretching or it was one big BH contraction - it just felt tight & hard. That, by the way, happened during my biggest growth spurt (8 lbs in 4 weeks.) Then it diminished for about 4 weeks (gained 3 lbs during those 4 weeks) and came back again for a few days last week (maybe Im growing again?) I don't really know if it is related to stretching/growing .. or if I just have weird BH contractions (or feel them differently) but there have been days when my uterus has felt pretty darn hard.

hmmmm, I'd have to say I'm a part of this too!! I blame it on another growth spurt.

Sometimes mine does this when I've been overdoing it. I have no idea why, though.

Are there any particular spots were it feels harder? Mine feels harder at the top of the fundus. Iam sure we are all aware of bh by now, and as the space in the uterus fills up and our "extra" skin becomes firmer for us mamas who have had a few children and have alittle left overs if you know what I mean can make things feel different, there shouldnt be any pain though.

We have a first time mom whos 26 weeks and when I walked in the door I had no clue she was pregnant, a cute size two and a six pact with a little buldge at the bottom, her belly uterus and all is rock hard. I myself am not built that way after two children.

now that I think about it, when I go thru a growth spurt, I also have cramping. But, at times my uterus is solid for hours and nothing's really going on at that point. Like, I won't be overdoing it w/household work, and it's not always after work (waitress).

Speaking of which....next time you go out to dinner, and your waitress is obviously preggo, appreciate the fact that she remembered to bring you something that you asked for. I can't remember **** anymore, and I feel so bad for my customers. Some understand (probably have kids themselves), and some don't (who have no idea what it's like).

FREAKING PREGGO BRAIN!!:
