I was on my feet ALL DAY yesterday, I think I may have overdone it a bit. By bedtime my poor feet looked like marshmallows. All night long my hips popped like popcorn, and then all day today I'm feeling crampy in my lower belly, with some over zealous braxton hicks striking pretty much every 15 minutes. My cervix feels the same as it has for the past few days though, just a little bit open on the outside, and soft like freshly chewed bubble gum. Since it's not changing I'm not worried about PTL or anything like that, but I"m kind of enjoying this preview to labor. It's been three and a half years since I had a baby, and I think I have kind of forgotten what it feels like!!!!

Anyone else feeling like they're ON THE VERGE?

That is me too - I was also on my feet or sitting in uncomfortable chairs ALL day yesterday and have been feeling crampy today - frequent ctx with a backache. I feel like it could be early labor, but I don't want to get too excited or anything only to be disappointed. I'm 38w2d, so I really could go anytime, but I just figured out what I have left to do for work and I have grades due in just over a week (with lots to grade) so I am NOT ready yet. This sucks, because with DD I was ready at 37w because of winter break, and didn't give birth until 41w4d.

Anyway, I know what you are feeling!

Yeah ... with dd#1, I didn't have a single BH contraction. Nothing, zip, zilch, nada, until I actually went into labor. So, I started having BH's last weekend, and they're back full force this weekend too. At least, I'm pretty sure they're BH's. I really don't think it's going to be any day or anything, but I'm scared to death that since I WANT to go late, she's going to come early. So, every twinge makes me cringe.

The other night I started having very strong BH with cramping down low. All the sudden my lower back started aching with the contraxtions. I felt my stomache drop and I was overcome with anxiety I started thinking OMG I am not ready for this!! I got up and started moving around and the ctx went away ( exhale) I am currently working on finishing all my projects so that I will be ready.:

Yup, I had a morning last week where I had regular, fairly "painful" menstrual like cramping that went away after an hour or so, and again this morning, and I've had really strong bh's all day today as well. I haven't checked my cervix at all and I'm only 36 wks tomorrow so I'm hoping he stays in there at least another couple weeks...It's nice to be getting close though!!

I have been having the menstral like cramping and lower backache too. I think my body is just practicing. I am no where near ready. I'm only 34 weeks

I have had this all weekend after a very busy week. Lower back pain, cramping, and yesterday my uterus would just seem to clinch and stay that way. Not fun. My house is a wreck, but I am trying to take it easy. I am nauseous and starving at the same time. I feel like I am suddenly falling apart as well. I told dh there is no way I am doing this (we are planning a big family)- I have been such a crappy mother= we watched 3 movies today, and I have been anyting but gentle. I told dh when he left for work that either the house is falling completely apart tonight or I will be beating Luke- he said it is ok, the house is fine. I just don't have the energy.

This happened to me too!! My ctx were almost 7 minutes apart and I really felt like my waters were bulging out--it was so weird! I didn't have many BH with my last two, but this time it is sometimes hard to tell the difference. I saw the OB about 2 1/2 weeks ago and he said the babe would come within two weeks (ummm, a little off there), then my mw on Saturday didn't even make a follow up appt since she is so sure the babe is going to come this week. UGH. . .am I ready??

Dont know about on the verge but... I have been having some good BH's and keep having bits of mucus and my cervix is starting to get thinner. I am also getting lots of rubbing down there. The baby sends sharp pains through my pelvic floor.

Me too. Sometimes I feel like it could be any day, and just hold off until this week- I'm 37! Other times I'm sure I'll be feeling this way all the way to 42...

I'm not ready to say that I feel on the verge, but I've been having cramps, backache and tons of swelling. I've been waking up in the middle of the night with BH and they usually subside if I get up and go pee. I've been in a bit of a mood for the last couple of days as we are moving into our house on Tuesday and I've been told to sit still and let everyone else take care. I'm only 35 weeks and I want these babies to stay put a little bit longer, even if it means that I walk around for the next couple of weeks feeling like my pelvis is going to explode.

I've been having a lot of cramping, but nothing regular so I'm not worried (only 34wks) it is uncomfie though!

Can't say I feel like I'm on the verge (of course, this is my first so I'm really clueless as to what the verge feels like!) but the past 2-3 days I've had super strong BHs. What is different about them is that they are sometimes accompanied by a low achey back, a few sharp twinges inside (cervix?) and an odd pressure-like feeling behind my pubic bone.

I think the baby might have dropped, I'm not sure - but the heartburn has let up and I can feel some movement really, really low. I have my 37 week appointment on Wednesday (and GBS test.) I'm planning to ask the midwife if she can tell if baby has dropped.

I'm officially able to deliver at the birth center starting Tuesday. I'm actually hoping the little guy decides to come at around 39 weeks.

I am pretty sure I lost my mucus plug last night. Although I don't know how much 'stuff' makes up a mucus plug so it is hard to say. There was no blood or pink tinge-just straight up, thick blob o' mucus. Also lots of cntx lately-my MW wants me to make till 3/30-then I am clear to HB!

I've got such swelled up feet, hands and face in the last trimester of my first pregnancy here that I've been singing "I feel puffy, oh so puffy i feel puffy and clumsy and lame and I envy any girl who isn't me today... who's the puffy girl in the mirror there?" just to make me laugh at my own misery and somehow get through it. It's been bad enough that I also have severe carpel tunnel syndrome symptoms that are worse in the morning. I've been seeing a chiropractor who has helped enough for me to think I don't want to know how bad it would've been if I hadn't seen him!
