(1st vaginal exam)

Has that happened to anyone else? What did you do to treat it?

The best thing to do is to get a culture to make sure it's a YI.
In the meantime, natural cures include inserting a garlic clove vaginally and leaving it there (I put one in the morning, one at night), you can also do a tampon dipped in TTO, but I'm weary of inserting that during pregnancy, so I stick to garlic. Eat lots of yogurt and take pro-biotics. If all else fails, OTC creams are available. But I would wait to take that course to make sure it really is a YI. It could just be irritation from the VE as well...

This is the biggest reason why I hate VEs. They squirt that gel which contains glycerin (and is also probably the wrong PH) all over in there and screw up the flora. I have one scheduled for the 3rd (even though they know I don't want one) and I may tell them I just really don't want it. Sorry this happened!

My nurse at the ob/gyn said I any cream was ok to use... But that may not be the case since we are so close to the end... you should ask your doctor some of the yeast infection pills are safe for baby but you need a pescription...
