Have you ladies lost one big chunk? Mine comes out in slimey strands. This morning a huge piece came out when I got out of bed. Ewwwww! It looks like someone blew their nose in my underwear. Sorry for the TMI!

No pink though! ????

at some of the descriptions in this thread! I know I won't lose mine until I'm well into labour, so I have to just sit here and keep waiting ...

i've been losing mine in bits over the last two days. sorry to be ignorant, but does it mean anything? Like, does it mean that I will soon go into labor or could I carry on for another three weeks? What is more likely? It's one thing I don't know much about...but it's exciting all the same. It is progress, after all. I've gone two weeks longer than my first two children so this is new ground for me.

It doesnt really mean that much ... it could still be a week or two away... or it could be today. LOL Sorry.

I, for one, am willing it to come out today. I just want to see SOMETHING.

So I lost mine a couple of days ago and baby seemed like he was maybe thinking about possibly coming out by me having all sorts of lowering type waves all night long. When one wave was ending the next would begin. More waves last night, some of which were almost painful and I got up just about every our having to pee so much it hurt and now zilch...back to feeling I'm not even pregnant except for the giant wiggling belly.
What I really want to know is if there is a length of time that I should start to worry about bacteria or anything with the plug not being there. From what I read losing it means that you have hours to days, but I feel no goings on at all, is there any danger?

(OMIGOD YOU'VE LOST THE MUCUS PLUG!! ::squeal of excitement:: )

Ahem. Well, I think lots of people lose the mucus plug in pieces over a period of several days. Or it can regenerate itself if you're not ready to go into labour. I think a normal time frame between losing mucus plug and going into labour is 3-4 days (or less, or more, if it regenerates itself). I'm not 100% sure, these are just things I've read.

Which is pretty darn exciting! I don't think the mucus plug will phase me much (so long as it comes at the right time) because I've been dealing with lots of mucus so far this whole pregnancy. Fun stuff!

I have been losing gooey bits but nothing blood-tinged...having lots of lower-type ctx, cramping low back ache, these keep me up at night. Then nothing during the day. I just imagine that I am opening right up, so when I go into 'real' labor I will be nice and loose...hope so...
