My DS's eyes are turning green/brown at 9wks - I think he is going to have my dad's eyes - YES!!! But we have relative on both sides with anything from light blue to green to the darkest brown...

Yep, but blue was the likeliest color here--slim possibility of green.

Chasing DS since April 2007 and pumping for DD March 2013.

Nope, but they never were blue :-) I'm white and my dh is black, and Audrey was born with these amazing charcoal grey eyes. They seem to have gotten lighter, and may potentially be turning kind of green like mine, but they're still grey.

Liam's eyes turned from blue-grey to brown at around 18mths, my eyes as a child went from blue to green at 4yrs!!! There is a HUGE lapse of time where eye color can change.

Dd has light slate grey eyes. I read somewhere that those will turn to brown (where blue eyes can change to any color). So I'm not thinking her's will be anything but brown, even if mine are green and all my family's (and most of dh's) are blue

For what it's worth, I don't think baby's eye color change before 6mths or so.

They are a blue with specs of a darker color in them now at 3 months. DH and I both have brown eyes and our first son has the biggest blue eyes. : I am thinking DS2 eyes are going to turn.

Ronan's have gotten progressively lighter. At birth they were an inky indigo. They spent a week violet. They've been sapphire blue. And they're going lighter. They're not as light as my eyes yet (pale blue-gray with a dark iris ring), but they're more blue than DH's (blue with green tint). They may not settle for a few years, I'm told, but they've been changing since the beginning!

I meant to say "settle" instead of "change". You're right. dd's eyes have grown lighter as well since birth

gotcha. *grins*

A friend of mine had blue eyes until she was five years old and they changed to a light brown/amber! I think that's a rarity, but kinda cool!

Calla's eyes are still blue, but I can see brown spreading around the pupil.

What's still shocking to me is that she's a REDHEAD! I have light brown hair and DH is 1/2 NA. Where did this red hair come from? It's the most gorgeous dark cinnamon color.

What's funny is that my oldest daughter is also a redhead, but she has a different father and we always thought the red hair came from his mom.

Life's a mystery!

Life's a mystery!
I was born a redhead. It turned blonde around age 4 when I started being outside more. It still has some red highlights. I wondered if our baby might be a redhead but no one on DH's side of the family is and it takes both parents to have the recessive trait... so redheads are becoming more rare!

"According to a study conducted by the Oxford Hair Foundation only 4 per cent of the world's population carry the recessive gene responsible for red hair and that, over time, this gene will disappear as the result of more dominant genes of blonde, brunette and black hair"

Abby's are still dark blue. She will have blue eyes since DH and I have them, but DD1 has a different father and her eyes changed to hazel at about 9mo.

Both my girls were born with a full head of dark hair - no one is sure where that comes from. Abby currently has a mohawk, just like DD1 did. Cute!

Eliana's eyes are morphing from a dark gray to a light blue. Amari's eyes are a pretty dark blue like daddy, but I think Eliana's will be lighter blue like mine. Not much chance for anything other than blue in this family... except maybe a touch of green or hazel b/c of my mom.

Not really! Gianna's eyes were never really blue and they were fairly dark when she was born. However they have lightened up now, and are looking a pretty greenish-blue color. It's kinda hard to say what they might end up being.

Ethan was born with gorgeous blue eyes, and over time, they turned to a handsome greenish-brown. Nolan started out with BLACK eyes - they were so dark! And now his eyes are the exact same color as Ethan's!
My eyes are blue, and Corey's eyes are brown with flecks of green.
We'll see how Gianna turns out!
