Hello. Three questions. I'm considering DTaP, Prevnar, Hib and polio.

1.) I've read from unreliable sources that Hib and Prevnar is NOT needed after age 2. Most other sources say that only ONE dose is needed. Can anyone give me a good source that confirms that NO doses are needed?

2.) I'm in IL. DD has never been in day care, but may start when I resume school in January. By selective vaxing, I won't be able to use the religious exemption form, will I? If I just tell day care provider "she's had NO shots (even if she's had the one's mentioned)" and provide religious exemption, do I need proof from doctor? Not so sure about this part.

3.) How long should I wait between each shot? I've read anywhere from 1-3 months. Should I finish DTap before another shot? Or how, exactly, does this work? Can anyone post some links?

i am in a similar situation. we are in illinois and contemplating selective vax. hib and dtap are what im considering. i believe it is 1 shot of each hib and prevnar needed to complete those series if started after 15 months hib and 2 years prevnar. i think i will google illinois state required immunizations though.

i do believe that you need your doctor to sign off on records of shots, so in that case i dont know how you would get around that in illinois-another question of mine as well!

and i think people do all sorts of intervals: 1 month-6 months depending on what you are comfortable with. although i have no sources for you, but am interested as well.

thanks for posting this!
