I feel such anxiety over trying to secure a religious exemption for my son - he will start Pre K  (its universal in our school district) in Sept ....its half days.  i REALLY want him to go - he has been at home with me for nearly 4 years and i think Kindergarten will be totally overwhelming for him if he doesnt go to Pre K first.

He has had a total of 5 vaxxes.  I always assumed i would get him everything necessary for K-garten - but pre - k vax requirements are like day care requirements - i hate the thought of 4 extra vaccines for just this one year of school ....

also - his last vax was a combo (i know...what was i thinking???)  DTaP and Polio - he came down with 'Dermatographia"  48 hours later.  no - ped will not write a medical exemption -that was one year ago..... but if after his next shot he gets sick again - thats it ...i am stopping vax altogether.  - So it may behoove me to get this religious exemption nailed down.

I am tempted to lie on the form and type in a few extra dates - i dont really like to lie....but i will be lying about a religious exemption - i have been an atheist since i was a child....if they call me in for an interview ...i will be SUNK.

Any experience trying for a religious exemption in NY for Pre K?  I do have it written - anyone care to proof read it for m?

Not a NY'er, but this topic comes up a lot in these forums. Gary Krasner is a household name for MDC moms. I know he charges a fee, (not sure how much), but he's helped a lot of parents craft their exemptions. I wouldn't worry about previous vaccinations because beliefs can change at any time. As to your ethical quandary, read this and see what you think.

Edited to fix link.
