Tetanus or DTAP for 9yo?

Hi all, I am interested in your feedback on DTAP for my 9yo. I want him to have a tetanus shot, but his pediatrician offers only the DTAP. He did have an initial DTAP as an infant without any adverse reaction that we know of (we are selective in vaccinating). I'm wondering about reasons for and against the DTAP and if you know how to go about seeking a tetanus alone. (We live in Oregon.) Thanks in advance!

Have you checked what the recommendations are where you live for DTaP vs Tdap? I know in Canada, for example, it is NOT recommended that children over age 7 receive DTaP.

I don't believe that you can get tetanus alone, only TD.

In Illinois my daughter just got a dose of TDaP but you must be either 10 or 11 for that one (not positive off the top of my head which it was). We had no concerns about this one and she didn't experience any adverse reactions.
