My dad wants all of us to take a trip with my Grandma now that she is getting up there in years. She used to live in Mexico part time and would love to go back there but I am a little worried because I don't know whether there is a high prevalence of diseases there that I have been immunized against. -That is to say that I have been to several areas of Mexico before and I have never come back with measles but I have been immunized against it. I understand the risk of the various diseases here in the US but other than consulting the CDC website (which I believe is slanted), I don't know how to gauge the risk of taking DD outside the US.
The original plan was to keep DD in the US until she was around 5 but now that my Grandma wants to go to Mexico, I am very tempted to take her. My Grandma lives in a resort town but her house is in a "locals" area so it wouldn't just be a bunch of vaxed Americans drinking and sunning themselves. I also have family that live in Mexico full time and it would be nice to introduce DD to them. So I have a lot of reasons for going but I don't want DD to get too sick when there, yk?
