Have you been told to avoid alot of activities such as sex, lifting, exercise etc?

I go to an older Chinese man who lectures me on this stuff - especially during the first 12 weeks. I wrote some of it off to superstition.

When I went in last week with first trimester bleeding he confronted me "did you lift" and then he asked me "did you have "seck" (his way of pronouncing sex) - I ended up telling him that we did once. He basically scolded me and said something like "you young people" - then he expressed fear that I was going to sue him since he knows that I'm a lawyer. It was all humorous in retrospect. Then he ordered me to go home, lie down and "don't move" for the rest of the week.

Can I really live this way?? Anyone else told this?

My acupuncturist only told me to avoid eating right before or after treatments, because she was working on me for nausea... she wanted to give my digestive tract a break right around the time of the treatment. But that's it! No other restrictions.
