Hi!

Hubby and I are having a girl this time around. We have 3 boys so far. We have choosen 3 names and 2 middle names because we can't quite decide which ones we like best! Lol!
I welcome all opinions on the names that you like and why! THank you for your thoughts.

These are in no special order:

Kiila Rose (Pronounced Kyla-meaning lovely)
Kaisha Dawn (pronounced Kay-sha)
Kaela Dawn or Rose (pronounced Kayla-meaning beloved)

I have a friend named Keila pronounced like KEElah and I love that name. Just thought it was really similar to these.

Out of these choices, I think I'd go with Kaela Rose. Definitely prefer Rose as a middle name and either Kaela or Kiila for the first name.

Not in your ddc, but I can't resist name threads...

They are all nice names, but in your shoes I would spell them the way they are pronounced, rather than going all "Kree8tiv" on your kid. She will be correcting people all her life and won't thank you for it.

For example, I see "Kaisha" and immediately think "Aisha" (the Muslim name, pronounced "eye-sha"). I'd never think to say "Kay-sha".

And Kiila? Why the two i's? Just to be different? Again, it doesn't add anything to a lovely name except confusion.

I like Kaela Dawn the best, it kind of rang for me. But I do kinda agree about difficult spellings, it would be just as pretty a name spelled Kayla Dawn, and its likely she wouldn't have to spell it for everyone, but then again, no one can spell my name or my kids names they always ask for spelling, Like how hard is it to spell Crystal (okay I know there are different acceptable spellings) and my kids names are pretty straightforward Matthew, Hayden, Lucas, Lauren people don't spell them right anyway so if different spellings do it for you you might as well go for it

THe reason for the spelling is because I don't like the y's in the middle of a name! And I'm not sure how else I could spell Kaisha so that it's pronounced right-perhaps Kaesha? I really don't want a "Y" in the middle of a name, to me they go at the end. And the reason for the 2 i's is because Kiila is a combination of hubbys and my name. If I change it to a y then we loose the blending of our names! There are so many different names out there now-a-days, I'm not worried about the spelling being different. I just want it to flow and sound pretty.

Keep your thoughts coming! I appreciate the input! :0)

Just curious, without my letting you know how the names were pronounced, would you have read Kaisha as Kaysha or Ki-sha?

I didn't like the spelling of Kiila tell you explained why. Now I like it.

So, I say my choice of those names would be Kiila Rose.

My mom chose a less common spelling for both my legal name & the short form I prefer to go by. So, I've always had to spell it for people. It's a hassle, but I still like it. It's a fairly common name, (mine) but the spelling is unique, and I like that.

Besides, there are enough accepted spellings of names, i think a lot of people have to spell theirs for people.

I actually would have pronounced it Ki-ee-sha (like that r&b song "Aisha" from the 80s?) without your explanation.

I really like Kaila, spelled that way, rather than Kaela. and I love Rose for a middle name .

While I like the idea of the blended names, I do have one thought on Kiila... when I glanced at that I thought it said killa - like "killah" - like saying the word "killer" with Boston accent, or the way it is pronounced in rap songs (don't ask why I know that). : Not saying I am wrong or right, but if I thought that, maybe some other people would think that too. Just something to consider.

ETA: I just noticed that the PP actually typoed it as Killa, too.

I read it as KA-SHE-A (reminds me of the cereal brand with an A on the end).

I like the double i name the best with Rose but I would pronounce it wrong. That said, I thinkt there are worse things that needing to spell or pronounce your name for people (although I never had to, so perhaps I don't really know).

Just read the pp on kiila and having seen her write it and explain, I do kind of agree it looks like "killah". I am changing my mind - I think Kaela is the best one and I pronounced it correctly just from seeing it. Kaela Rose.

Now I'm really having to re-think things.
Kiila Rose was the one we were favoring because of the flow and also it being apart of both of us. (our names) I'm open to suggestions also on spellings of Kaisha. I really wanted it to be pronounced Kay-sha without having a y in the middle of the name.
Thank you for your input! :0)

Well, I am not wearing my glasses so all those vertical lines could be i's or l's and it is so uncommon to see two i's together, that I think my brain told me one had to be an "l."

One more thought,
I like all 3 names, but considering the name Kiila, since it is a comb. of hubby and my names, do you have any suggestions how to spell it without spelling it Kyla?
My name is Kimberley and hubbys is Lance. We took the first 2 letters of our names to make Kiila and I added the extra i so it wasn't pronounced Kill-la, but now it seems some of you may be seeing it that way anyway.
Suggestions?

This is removed from the names you've chosen but it just jumped out at me. I really like the name 'Lacey' and it works as a combo of your two names.
I won't be offended if you reject But it sort of jumped to mind.
