Just today I started feeling this really hard round thing sticking out of my belly...way above my belly button...probably around the top of my uterus. It is uncomfortable how it is sticking out. It is about the size of a silver dollar...maybe about an inch around. When I lay down I can feel it more clearly as a round thing. What is it? Is it a knee or shoulder? When I'm sitting up in a chair I can feel it as this really hard big thing--it hurts if I press on it. Anyone else feel this? I can't believe how big this baby is already.

Yes, I have a few spots, and they move... I am pretty sure that mine are knees and/or feet! And you're right, they hurt. If I push back gently I can get them to move over to a new spot so it doesn't hurt in one spot all the time. And, if I sit properly then babe turns around and points thier pointy bits at my back and I can feel a long hard lump that is the back and THAT doesn't hurt at all. See if you can get him/her to swing around to anterior.

wow, isn't that cool??

Maybe a heel??
Your baby should be head down so the big round bump you feel up near your ribs will most likely be your baby's butt.

LOL--well, I pressed on it a few times just now and could tell the baby was repositioning--flipping... Well, she didn't move far...now the little round lump in a couple of inches to the right of my belly button...instead of left.

I keep having the same thing, hard bumps below my ribs. Last night Jeff got really excited because he "pushed" on the bump and it pushed back! LOL. He just couldn't believe it! I told him this goes on all day!

You know how I was complaining that I couldn't feel as much this time and I thought maybe it was the anterior placenta?

I think it was me just trying too soon
I can totally feel all kinds of good stuff now. I've been grabbing one leg all day. I hope he doesn't mind:

I'm feeling similar movements to ya'll! I love it!!!! My DH has the same little game he plays with her where he gives 3 strong, steady pushes, and she'll push back- it's soooo sweet :

heh, maybe it's just my doom to have these sunny-side up babies all the time With baby in that position I always have little sharp things jabbing at me--and while it's quite entertaining for my kids it REALLY gets uncomfortable for me!! I remember in my 9th month, being able to see/feel individual toes on the foot when it was pushing out :

I really hope the birth ball/positioning stuff helps me get some relief from this kiddo's tae kwon do moves in the next two months, lol

Its all fun until the baby on the inside wants to play footsies with the baby on the outside. I was nursing DD today and it was just too painful I had to put her down for a little while because they were pushing on each other.

thats all snopes knows. I cant imagine with all the layers a baby has to go through that that could happen, but I guess anything is possible

It's the toes that make it unbelievable to me. I can count them, that's just odd, esp sice babies seem to curl their toes AWAY from things, don't they? Run on sentence, anyone?

yea I've seen the pic before--on myspace Hmm...her skin just seems too thin for showing all that detail, yk?? Even on my belly it's didn't look nearly that easy to distinguish. Then again, Ian had big feet too!

If you really want to have fun with identifying baby parts and visualizing where what is and so forth, go to www.spinningbabies.com and click on "belly mapping". This is a nice website that focuses on optimal fetal positioning information, which is something that's good to think about at this point in pregnancy (as most of you already know!), especially if you're having a first baby!
