I did a google search and this is what I found. http://www.tobeparents.com/amniosense.htm

There seems to a lot of different places to get them but most are in the UK this was one of the 1st I saw that was US based. Ebay also had a few but the auctions had already ended.

I really hope that this is nothing. I know you have a history of pre-term labor and babies and I really hope that you don't think your water is breaking this early. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care sweetie.

It's just Nitrazine paper which should be MUCH easier to find than ones made specifically for the purpose.
I'm confused, did something happen that I missed?

Okay thanks everyone.

I thought it was Litmus Paper that was used. Maybe I am wrong.
I am just being overly cautious. I had maybe a pin size leak on tuesday that healed itself. But when my water broke with number 3, it was just very surreal. I actually was taking a nap when I had a dream that I had to get to the hospital. When I woke up, hmmm, not really the gosh I thought of but geez is could be just discharge. So I called my midwife and I told her I had a dream I need to get to the hospital and she always listens to me and said come right in. At the hospital everything was fine then the brilliant nurse said lets test you standing up and as soon as I stood up gush then the contractions came. So now I am a bit parnoid I am going to miss the warning signs especially since I (TMI) seem to lately have a lot of clear discharge.

I thought litmus paper and nitrazine paper were the same thing. . .I could sooo be wrong though.

I have had a couple of random leaks this time that I think have been pee. My pee isn't always acidic so even if I were to test it and it was alkaline I wouldn't really have much information. I think that's the case for everyone. I suggest following your gut and staying hydrated no matter what.

Litmus paper and nitrazine paper DO the same thing, sort of, but they are not the same. Litmus paper tests acid vs. base, but nitrazine paper shows a change in colour through the range of pHs.... so 6 is different than 7 and 8 is another shade of green.... etc (colour changes from yellow to blue). Litmus paper probably won't tell you what you want to know because you want to know if your pH is above or below 6.5.

I agree with the other ladies, go with your gut feeling you know your body best.
