I have always been told to eat Chinese Food to get labor going....not too sure where that folklore stems from Maybe it's the tummy upsets from the MSG getting the bowels going...
...and the sex I mentioned....I do know that the progesterone in your mans semen can aid in the ripening of your cervix as well as the friction will naturally help too (although in hospital inductions I think they may still be using bovine progesterone )
Here's some dust in hoping you have an active night
Oh my goodness, such fresh memories for me - that achiness and work of opening up. I think the best advice I ever heard was to focus on each contraction and not think too far ahead - and to realize that just because that's the pattern right now, doesn't mean it will be slow throughout. Your body is doing all that it needs to do and SOON you'll be holding your baby in your arms. How amazing and exciting is that?!!
I loved slow dancing with dh to relaxing music (often Indigo Girls), and I have to say if you can stand it at all, sex really speeds things up if that's what you feel you want to do! Best of luck, and can't wait to hear your exciting news! Babies are so exciting

twinangels04- Ummmm, not sure. The last time I asked my mw it was bovine...but that was years ago
Hoping you had another active night Kristen......I think were all assuming your sparseness at the computer means you are VERY pre-occupied with something else.....
or, you're getting lot's of which is also super!
Thanks everyone. I am finally home. I'll post a longer version later, but the long and short of it is that I started contracting 10min apart on Tues morning and gave birth via c-section at 3:26am on Saturday with no break in the action. It was a long 5 days and resulted in one SORE mommy and one beautiful baby girl. Certainly not the birth of my dreams, but we're working through it and we're all healthy in the end.
Thanks for all your support, I'll be on sporadically for a days while we get settled at home and catch up on some rest. Good luck to the rest of you and congratulations to everyone else that's given birth in the last week!!
