nak

Ideally I would have gone into spontaneous labor and not needed an episiotomy, but I felt totally comfortable with both in our situation and overall LOVED my birth!

I had an amazing unmedicated VBAC and my birth plan was followed to the letter, so I voted 10.

i had a fabulous home waterbirth but i voted 9 just because i wish it was a little slower (so fast is very intense) and that the hot water would've hung in there. we weren't able to have the pool as full as i would've wanted. otherwise, loved it & wish i'd had the girls at home, too!!

I voted 10.

The mw didnt make it but that was OK, we kinda though she wouldnt make it in time.

I used castor oil but that was perfecly ok with me. No bad or unpleasnt side affects.

Very fast labor
Dh was as usual wonderful
The birth tub was fantastic.
It was a lovely, relaxing, enjoyable birth just dh and I enjoying the peacefulness of the night. We even had a fire going

Wonderful way to bring our 4th dd into the world

i voted 3. i ended up with an emergency c-section after a much wanted and planned for vbac. having another c-section was hugely disappointing. but, i did get to experience labor and i did end up with my dd. i also got to experience the services of my incredible doula and to find out how wonderfully supportive my husband was (and would be) during labor.

I voted 9. It went much quicker than I thought it would. The only downside was that I didn't get to use any of the comfort measures I had planned and I didn't feel like DH and I bonded during the birth at all b/c he wasn't there when it started and it just went at lightning speed after that. But really, who can complain about a quick birth?

I voted 10.

I was worried about another pp hemmorhage (like after my 2nd birth) but it didn't happen so that was a relief!

Both my older kids got to be there for the birth, and even helped (really helped!) during transition, so that was great.

I was happy with my birth support, DH, my mom and the midwives were great. The first 50 hours were good but things went downhill after that. No progress, back pain and a c-section.

My birth story will be posted soon, as soon as I have two hands to type instead of one!

I had a FABULOUS hospital birth.

I voted 10.

If I could the only thing I'd have done different would be to have a homebirth but since I can't I'll take my wonderful birth in the hospital any day. It was powerful.

Wow, I feel very similarly. My labor was 3 hrs. My doula didn't make it to the birth (she lived an hour away and I was hesitent about calling her) and having her at the hospital when I was pushing would have been helpful. We arrived only 15 minutes before DS was born! and I got a 2nd degree tear - I think she could have made those last intense minutes better. But I avoided an IV and pain meds. Didn't get to have DS with me for as long as I wanted *immediately* after the birth because that wanted to suction him more and he was a tad purple.

Voted 9, as I would change the fact that I tore and had to transfer for suturing, but a 10 would reflect how good I feel about the whole thing. I bet if I started over analysing it I could find some things that I didn't do 'right', but I birthed a perfect baby, with absolutely no intervention or pain relief, in my own home, and by the end of the pregnancy I didn't think I had a chance in hell of actually achieving that. I have honestly never felt as good about myself as I did after her delivery, and I'm still feeling pretty damn proud.

There's absolutely nothing better than giving birth at home to an anterior girl who is 8lb 9 oz after having labors with two boys; the first 8'/11' and persistent OP (sunnyside up) and the second 10'/5" and OP till pushing (boys both in hospital. Yeah, my birth was all that.

I voted 9, I had 12 hour labor, so that was the downside, this is the longest labor I've had.

I voted 7.

I had a planned birthing center birth. I labored in the tub the whole time, but at the end- i ended up with a hosptial transfer, I tore a lot, and hated staying at the hossy, and they kept taking my baby away!

But, he was healthy, alert and all natural, with an 8 hr labor, 3 hours of pushing!
