I am starting to experience quite a bit of hair loss in the last week. My birth experience was pretty tough, so I am wondering if it is stress-related? Has anyone else been losing their hair lately? If so, what are you doing to combat it?

TIA!

NAK
any other symptoms you are noticing?
AFAIK some hair loss is normal postpartum, but for me, after my experience with bith my dds I would rule out postpartum thyroiditis before anything else

Yeah, some hair loss is normal, but excessive hair loss can be related to loosing a lot of blood during the delivery.
I think Sheehans syndrome is what that's called. It's from the pituitary dying a little from lack of blood in the PP period. There are a host of other symptoms--fatigue. . .
I can't really remember all of it.

No, not really...while my birth experience was stressful (two days of labor, hospital transfer, etc), I didn't lose a lot of blood. I can't think of any other symptoms I'm having--mostly I am tired and anxious due to lack of sleep! DS wakes up A LOT at night, so I am pretty sleep-deprived. I am eating well and exercising, still taking my prenatals...
