Labor was Amazing and beautiful!!
Had bloody show in the am, water broke at 3:00pm, Contractions started 1 hour later, They were RIGHT ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER, transition hit like a ton of bricks, had to push before Mw showed up, which she made it just in the nick of time because she was born right after that at 6:10 pm, so labor was 2 hours start to finish, guess all those "false starts" really paid off. I had no tears and we are both in really great shape! Thank you everyone for your support!
Here are my details:
June 7, 10:35 AM
6 pounds 7 oz, 19 inches
Arrived June 10,2007 4:10pm
8lbs 1.8oz 19 inches
Having major issues trying to breast feed with inverted nipples. Had to take a break today since my nipples are wrecked and bloody. Trying hard not feel like a failure as a mother.
Nara is beautiful, strong and a voracious eater. I am truly blessed. I wish I can do more for her.
Congrats on Nara's arrival!
Have you contacted a LC about the nursing problems? The La Leche League has a free 1-800 help line and your local LLL leader can provide free nursing support too... Hang in there and don't give up! My first dd "broke" one of my nipples so I know how awful the pain can be, but with support you can get past it.
Do you have nipple shields? They don't work for everyone, and they can cause probles down the road...but they can save your nipples!
Thank you! I am indeed hanging in there. While I am "recuperating" my nipples I feel like crying everytime someone offers baby a bottle. Anyway- I did get nipple shields and pumping before trying to breast feed to get some milk going. (B/c when she is starving- she is starving..) but I do know it is temporary. I am currently looking for a LC. Going rate here is $200 per session. I was feeling hopeless- but I figure if I go once, twice or three times- it will be an investment in the long run. I sooooooooo LOVE my daughter. It's beyond belief how much I love her.

I was having serious talks with him about having good timing because DH is going to have some great interviews in Vegas around my due date.
He was listening and came a little early!! We are both doing great,
and wow it really is easier the second time!!
I'm so glad your labor was easy! (I admitted you into L&D
) If I had known it would have been so fast - I woulda stuck around!

Our little boy Loren Alexander, my miracle HBAC baby, arrived at home on his own time schedule after a loooong labor. DH and I are thrilled!

Isabella, my sweet sleeper
Born: June 14
Weight: 7 lbs, 12 oz
Length: 20 inches
EDD: June 15
Hobbies: nursing, sleeping, pooping
Isabella is the most awesome sleeper EVER, but postpartum recovery is kicking my derriere. Homebirth; 13 hrs start to finish; I impatiently pushed her out like a torpedo & received some tears along an inner labia from one of her shoulders; I lost about a quart of blood and am on bedrest; husband and I BOTH developed colds the day after her birth (ARRGH!); at 9 days pp, I am developing a low-grade fever and backache every evening, so planning to see an ob/gyn this week for a check-up, blech. I almost miss being pregnant! But looooove this baby. Bit of a "Twilight Zone"-feeling though, because she looks so much like her big sis did at birth. Same baby?!?!
I know I'm already in the list, but since we finally picked a name I thought I'd go ahead and post the stats here...

It was a wonderful, peaceful, middle of the night birth. Both big sisters were very excited when they woke up to find little sister FINALLY there. And having three girls is just wonderful!
I didn't post much but did appreciate the information and support that I read here.

A quick and intense unmedicated hospital birth thanks to DH, a great and bossy midwife, and supportive nurse. I thought anything would be preferred to the slow progessing back labor I had with DD1, but I discovered that quick and intense was actually harder for me to get through! But such sweet relief and a wonderful reward when she was born.
Had my wonderful home/water birth on June 14! Six hours of labor, and 3 or 4 pushes. Here are the stats:
name: Penelope Anne
wt: 9 lbs.
length: 22 inches
time: 2:26 a.m.
EDD: June 8
hope to post a birth story soon (when I get two hands free!
Hi, Amy's friend Susan here posting the news for Amy and John!
Amy was admitted to the hospital last night where they inserted Cervidil to get labor started. It worked well and produced strong contractions. Amy went to sleep with the help of some Ambien and Morphine, but she was awakened at about 4am by a frantic nurse. Ian wasn't tolerating the contractions well. His heart rate was going down with each contraction. Therefore, they stopped labor and realized that a c-section was the only option. She was prepped at 6am and Ian was born at 7:15am. Turns out he had a very short cord and had descended as far as he could. There was just no way this baby was coming out vaginally.
