I was sitting here drinking this really good protein smoothie I just made, when I saw someone on another thread asking how to make protein shakes ... so I thought I'd share the recipe. Not that I really used a recipe.
Anyway, it's really good.
about 1 1/2 cups crushed ice
1 1/2 scoops whey protein powder
1/2 cup hot water with 1/4 pkg cherry jello mixed in (for flavor, and gelatin improves the texture)
about 2-3 tbsp black cherry juice concentrate
1/8 tsp ascorbic acid (Vitamin C)
a couple squirts of fresh lime juice
Blended all this until it was pretty smooth and a little watery, then added:
about 2/3 cup lime sherbet
and blended until it was very smooth.
It tastes great!
Anyone else have recipes to share? I think this is my best shot of getting in some kind of decent nutrition right now.
