Typed with one hand while laying on my left side. Please excuse any typos
Last week I was having lots of ctx. This was a normal part of my second pregnancy so I was not worried but just took it easy.
Starting on Thursday I was getting cervical zingers too. On Friday evening I checked my cervix (high, thick, moderately soft and less than 1cm) So I thought "good it is all fine, just like last time."
On Sunday I woke up EXAUSTED, with a queasy tummy and feeling very heavy in my back and pelvis. By Sunday night I was gettng menstrual type cramping so I checked again (high, thick, moderately soft, and 1+ cm) Monday I was off my feet most of the day things slowed a bit but I was still feeling uneasy, thought maybe I should get checked. This morning I passed a bunch of mucus, and decided that there was enough going on that I really should go and be seen at the ob.
MW said i looked like I was still about 1+, she sent out a urine sample and did a fetal fibronectin test. I am on bed rest at least untill my test results are back (should be tomorrow sometime) I
Survivability rates at 23weeks are around 33% and we have some good NICUs in the area, I am trying to be logical and positive. I really, REALLY don't want to even have to think about having a baby in a NICU. I am really hoping this is all normal for this pregnancy.
If you made it this far Thank you Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Do you go back for a recheck on whether or not you are dilating more?

Hang in there sweetie!

I may be sent for an u/s depending on the results of the fetal fibronactin test. After that I really don't know yet. Otherwise my regular ob check is next Thursday.

Things have slowed a bit. I still "feel" like I do when I am in early labor. I am just really unsure and uncomfortable with what my body is doing right now. I am hoping that all this has a much simpler answer,...like an asymptomatic UTI or something. I am taking some probiotics just in case.

I am eating lots of raw nuts and taking tons of vit c to strengthen my amniotic sack. Hopefully it will hold up no matter how far I dilate. It seems like from what I read on this forum, that for many women their PTL was semi controled untill their water broke and then delivery usually took place within 5 hours (not enough time to get steroid shots on board) Anyhow the vit c and nuts can't hurt either. And yes I am guzzling water.

Joy,

My thoughts are with you. I hope everything settles down and you go to August with us.

If you thinking possible UTI, why not add some cranberry juice to your probiotics and water intake.

Hugs,
Judi

Protein intake as well is good for keeping the sac intact...though i'm guessing that's more in the long-term than the short-term. Sounds like you are doing what you need to to give you and baby the best shot. Keep it up!

I just called the dr office, the results of the fFn are not in yet. Neither is the urinalasis or gbs test. Lil Bean has the hickups at the moment (Iam feeling them very low.) I am almost afraid to pass gas, thinking I could also be pushing him lower against my cervix.
I did some research this morning, if I can hold on to him till25 weeks his chance of survival goes up to 70%, and a 50%chance of being neurologially intact. (as opposed to 33%, and less than 5% this week)
My son turns 3 years old tomorrow. Orriginally we were going to have two friends over to color eggs and have lunch, but I've called it off. My house is a mess and I can't imagine hosting guests when I'm on the couch. I think I'll still color eggs with my boys. We are having a family "party" on Sat. just my parents and Il's. (They already know housekeeping is not my strong suit on the best of days ) I called a local resturant and ordered some trays of mexican food. If DH bakes the cake I think I can frost it mostly laying down. (DS has been sooo looking forward to his Lightening McQueen cake)
I'll post again after I hear back from the dr office.
Joy

ETA: GOOD NEWS! fFn came back negative.
Based on every thing else Dr still wants me on bedrest--very limited activity for a while. The other labs are not back yet.

Sorry I'm so late with the good wishes. Great to hear about your test results, and no doubt you're still taking it easy.

I have a friend who has a beautiful daughter who was born at 26 weeks, and the only reason you'd ever wonder is that she is petite, but a child with a wicked sense of humor!!!

Take care of yourself and your bean and have fun at the party!
