I cant stand this anymore. I think I have completely lost my mind. this is my 5th baby and having never had " false labor" with any of them .... it seems I have had my 3rd false alarm. I am over due. and last night I had contractions that were regular and then as they got harder I got scared... needless to say shortly after that it all stopped. I am worried that I wount be able to do this again, or that maybe there is something wrong. I am tires of everyone asking me " so when are you going to have that baby?" the pressure from others is starting to be rediciouls. and all I want to do is calmly have her with no drama.
well thatnks for listening to me rant.....

I know the feeling--I felt like going into hiding those last couple of weeks so I didn't have to explain why I was still pregnant... good luck, and know that your body knows what to do and once it is ready, everything will happen as it is supposed to.

Hang in there mama! This pregnancy for me was like that. I kept thinking every night for weeks that they were coming! I had major contractions every night that were regular and getting stronger, but then they'd peter out and I'd fall asleep and wake up still pregnant.

HUGS! Take it a day at a time mama!

same here. Contractions at night that kept me awake. 10 minutes apart... then nothing all day!
Your body is performing a miracle. Be patient with it. I liked to think that those contractions were gently nudging my babe into the perfect position for birth and gently opening the cervix in little intervals. It's going to happen soooo soon.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks they're in labor every night but wake up still preggo. And why do people think that we have much control over this? Like we can just push our outie belly buttons to make labor start? It will be someday (soon), and hopefully because we are so patient, it'll be a quick and easy labor and the wait well worth it!

Add me to the wickedly long prelabor club. Ugh. How frustrating. Contractions evey 10 minutes for hours on end, but they never increase in intensity or get closer together. When it first started, I was disappointed when they went away. Now after almost a week of this, I am actually happy during my contraction free time.

I feel your stress and worry though. I worry I am going to be too tired to do what I need to do when REAL labor starts. I worry something is wrong with my body and I won't be able to get into real labor (maybe this is the best I can do?!). I worry that I am going to ignore labor (because I have soooo learned to ignore my contractions) until I am on the floor rolling around in pain and that the ride to the hospital is going to be hell. I am sure there are other things, but those are the biggies.

I think the good thing about a long prodromal labor is that your body is 'ready' when it does go into labor. Both my labors (2 of the 4) where I've had a long prodromal labor period have been really, really easy deliveries!!

CrunchyClark, I'm going to read that post over and over!!!

Kathy, I too have fears that my body may not be able to do this. Both of my other girls were born only with pit after my water broke. What if my body doesn't know how to go into labor? And I feel so crummy if I think I'm in labor and call my midwife and I end up NOT in labor.....how embarrassing...

Same here and boy did they suck!!!! But one this it was the real thing and he arrived.

I promise this baby will come out

And you will know when it's real labour. For me it was very definate a turning point - Oh and I learned how to feel my cervix and could tell it was changing.

I'm in the saaaame boat!

I'm due TODAY with no signs of anything close to labor other than those 10 minute contractions every now and then. I went to the specialist who stripped my membranes and next week talk about induction. I felt so down in the dumps today. A friend of mine who's EDD is 2 weeks behind me delivered today on my due date!!!! I even stopped answering phone calls. Tired of people asking me if the baby is out yet.

I totally feel for you. You're not alone. Hugs.

I'm not in your DDC but I know how you feel for the most part. EVERYONE has been asking me...wait, PUSHING me to deliver this baby early. I had a false labor scare about a week ago and ever since then everyone has been saying, "Oh it'll be tonight" or "I know she's coming in the next couple days" or "how are you feeling? is she coming soon?" I just want everyone to shove it! IT'S VERY IRRITATING TO HEAR IT FROM EVERYONE DAY AND NIGHT.:

Sending hugs your way**
