I'm just trying to see if mine is normal or big for his age.
We had a doctor's appt yesterday and he was 12 pds 14 oz. He was 23 1/4 inches.
He was 8 pds 10 oz at birth but then lost almost a whole pound right after so I think he has gained it back really well!
How about yours?

Our kiddos were born on the same day So, my daughter is 7 weeks old now.

She was 11 lbs 3 oz and 22 1/4 inches long at the pediatrician's office last Wednesday. At birth she was 8 lbs 13 oz and she dropped down to 8 lbs even at one week. I imagine she's right around 12 lbs now as she's been gaining an average of 10 oz a week.

Cujobunny 09-28-2007 02:45 PM

hehe another aug 8 baby here!

So she's 7 wks now, last time I had her weighed was at 6 wks and she was 10 lbs even. she was 8lbs 2oz at birth and dropped to 7lbs 8oz.

artgirl 09-28-2007 03:02 PM

my guy is 5 weeks and 11lb. 9 oz.
pretty big I think.

Sabo 09-28-2007 03:24 PM

My little girl was about 7 lb 1 oz at birth and weighed 8 lb 4 oz only 10 days later!! I attribute some of that to her glucose IV for the first 3 1/2 days of her life. However now, she's looking a little rounder, with cute chubby cheeks and little bits of arm rolls, so I think she's still gaining more. Gotta go feed my little eating monster now.

Vaquitita 09-28-2007 04:56 PM

my baby was 8lb 13oz at birth, 9lb 4oz at 2 weeks, and 10lb 10oz at 1 month.

Momsteader 09-28-2007 11:38 PM

The twins are 7 weeks and weigh 13 lbs (was 7 lbs 10 oz at birth) and 10 lbs (waas 6 lbs 9 oz at birth).

Rodeo Mama 09-29-2007 12:12 AM

My little girl was 7 lb 14 oz at birth and last Saturday at 5 weeks old she was 11 lb even.

artgoddess 09-29-2007 12:16 AM

My little girl was 8 lbs 8 oz at birth, and weighs 12 pounds today at one month old.

ShabbyChic 09-29-2007 12:47 PM

I have no idea how much Hud weighs. He will be 8 weeks on Monday. He has grown out of all his newborn diapers and most of his layette clothing. How do you all know at any given moment how much your DC weighs? Do you weigh at home?

artgoddess 09-29-2007 02:19 PM

we had a doctor appointment yesterday. that's how we know she's 12lbs already.

Twinklefae 09-29-2007 03:32 PM

Hey, four weeks and 11lbs 6.5 oz here. And feeling very large.

The most recent weight I have is from a doctor's appointment which we had because I switched pediatricians, however the place where I go to La Leche League meetings also has a baby scale.

Birth: 6 lbs 13 oz.
5 weeks: 9.5 pounds (on a home scale tailored to a vain man )

Yuba_River 09-30-2007 10:38 PM

Born at 7, 5. Was 12 pounds at 6 1/2 weeks! He is getting chubby cheeks and round arms and legs.

crunchymommy26 10-01-2007 01:28 PM

7,10 at birth and up to 9.12 a few days after she turned 1 month. ♥ my little pudge!

edenluna 10-01-2007 01:58 PM

at birth: 7 lbs 8 oz

now (2 months): 10 lbs 3 oz

ashleep 10-01-2007 02:20 PM

7,10 at birth and up to 9, 10 at 2 wks.

If he's still averaging 1lb a week then he's about 12, 10 at 5 weeks. He needs to slow down! lol My back is going to be killing me by 3 mo!

ashleep 10-01-2007 02:21 PM

Oh, and when dd was a newborn, we weighed her at the grocery store in the produce scale. We got really strange looks.

mama2walden&luna 10-02-2007 03:16 PM

8 weeks and 12 pounds here!

twilight girl 10-02-2007 11:46 PM

Birth: 4100 grams (9 lbs)

4 weeks: 4500 g. (9lbs. 14 oz)

6 weeks: 4940 g. (10lbs. 14 oz)

So far he is way outgaining his big sister. She was 8lbs 7 oz at birth, and took a whole month just to get back there. She was probably 3 or 4 months before she hit 10 lbs!

Alohamelly 10-04-2007 11:24 PM

He's almost 8 weeks old now and I have no idea how much he weighs. He started off slow - didn't gain any weight the first 3 weeks and then he took off. I had him weighed last time at 5 weeks old and he was 10lbs, 2 oz (8.15 at birth) and now I would guess he's about 12-13lbs. He's almost outgrown size 1 diapers! His 2 month WBC is next week so I'll find out how much he weighs then.

mamamoo 10-06-2007 04:00 AM

dang...this is the first baby I have had in a long time that hasn't gained super fast(good for my back which is spasming all the time).

She was born 8/11 and weighed 8,8 she was 7 weeks last sat and weighed 10,6. She is still pretty little. But geting lots of cute rolls. LOL

PiePie 10-06-2007 07:44 PM

DD was born at 7 lbs even. By the next day, she was down to 6 lbs., 12 oz. By 1 w, she had surpassed her birth weight. At 4 w she was 8 lbs., 11 oz. When last weighed, at 6 w, 6 d, she was 10 lbs., 11 oz. (with clothes on...But remember, cloth dipes weigh something).

Sabo 10-08-2007 06:32 PM

So I posted before about Aili's quick weight gain at 10 days. I thought it was related to the glucose IV in the NICU. Well, I was wrong.

Birth: 7 lb 1 oz
10 days: 8 lb 4 oz
4 weeks: 10 lb 3 oz

Yes, she's a little chunker. I can't believe she's gained 3 lbs in a month!!

dantesmama 10-08-2007 11:24 PM

At birth: 8lbs 9 oz.
At 4 weeks: 10 lbs 8 oz.
At 8 weeks: 15.5 lbs!!! Yes, I'm serious. My baby looks like the Michelin Man.

babz 10-09-2007 01:13 AM

OK I have the super chunk of the century:

7#6oz. at birth.

16#12oz. at 9 weeks old (pedi office weight last week - he was born at 38 wks) & 24 inches long.

Most of his 3-6 month clothes don't fit anymore and we're using premium PFs. His fluffy butt makes him look even bigger!

Totally, EBF!

Yuba_River 10-09-2007 02:03 AM

Updating on my little one since we had our two month visit today:

Birth: 7,5
6 weeks: 12 (huge gain!)
9 weeks: almost 13 --so his gain has slowed a little. Probably good, he's getting heavy to sling around already!

I think the initial big gain is related to my oversupply of milk, which is starting to slow down a little. Anyone else have this experience?
