I have a 20 month old and a 13 YO, and the 20 month old gets the vast majority of my time/attention for obvious reasons. My older DS is private and independent and likes to be he's 13, so hanging out with mom, dad and little brother isn't his idea of a good time.

On Sat, he and I went shopping for school clothes, just the two of us. I was reminded of what a funny, clever, wonderful child he is. He has such a great sense of humor...and a good heart...and I just love him.

I have a 13 year old DS too and sometimes he makes me laugh out loud. He is a great kid and it is nice to be reminded every once in a while. Your DS sounds lovely.

Married to the love of my life, mom to DS :

Wonderful Life, that's so nice. Those moments refill your mom tank.

Wonderful post.

Boys are fantastic. DS (12 yo) and I went shopping on Friday because he had no long pants. We're leaving much of the rest of BTS shopping until he knows what he wants. We have a budget and when he realized we'd used 60% of it in one go, he was horrified. I was thrilled.

This has been his summer to grow up. He rode his bike hither thither and yon with friends. Hooray for boys.

Hooray for moms who take some time with their teen boys. Well, done Wonderful Live!
