My child is not a straight A student or great at acedemics so when friends are bragging about reports cards etc, I stay silent.  But she did make this 007 Adele song on the computer on youtube so I would LOVE to share it with SOMEONE. I think she has a great voice for a 12 yr old.  I'm thinking of putting her in a singing competition, if I can find one.  hehe

If you want to take a look at her youtube clip, I would very much appreciate it.  Thank you!    grouphug.gif

Whoa! Amazing. I also have a 12 year old DD who loves to sing, she goes to a performing arts school actually for vocal performance, and I can't believe how smoky and deep your DDs voice is at this age. Most of the girls in this age group are sopranos and could not do an Adele cover justice, but yours did. I think she has star potential, just tell her to keep practicing, the presence and breath control is there!

Hey Onyxfire.  She has JUST matured if you know what I mean, so her voice majorly dropped.  Example, here is about 2 yrs earlier:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSAZhQvXgDo  You can see she is struggling to get deep like Lady gaga but just can't. haha cute though.

Lol, super cute. She has great eye contact and nuance here, too, you can tell she's got the talent. I def think she would be ready for a competition by 13!

Does she play piano or guitar? Or ukulele? My DD plays both piano and uke and has started writing her own songs, definitely the best way to get discovered. I know of a few teen girls in my area who are making names for themselves as singer songwriters.

Wow that's impressive. What area of the world do you live where these kids are making names for themselves?

Yes, we live in Austin, and there are so many great, young artists here. I have taken my DD to see a number of bands fronted by girls just a few years older, it really helps them believe in themselves to see that other kids are writing their own songs, etc.
