hi everyone,im going to be writing a research paper on teen parents and the way that society views them.i would like everyones opinion on this.how u view teen parents, support, critisize them, etc.i am also looking for people to interview who are/were teen parents at one point.this is for my college composition and reasearch class-thanks a bunch.
you might want to check out the new book by Deborah Davis, You Look Too Young To Be a Mother (google it, or amazon.com) it's a collection of essays by teen mamas, and it's supposed to be pretty empowering.
I dunno if this counts seeing as how I was "legal" by the time I had her, but I gave birth to DD1 three months after my 18th birthday. It was very hard being a teen parent. In hindsight I see what a crappy mother I was and I try to make up for it now by just being there and loving her more!! If you want to PM me, feel free.
You are welcome to PM or e-mail me with specific questions. I was 17 when my first was born, 20 at the birth of my second, and I will be 23 when my third arrives.
