i posted on another message board also....

ok so i have eliminated a bunch of things, but not EVERYTHING. can someone give me a list of things to avoid, and things that are ok??? i'm having a really hard time here! DS was so so so hard, and is still VERY HIGH needs. mabel is suppose to be the easy one! but she is SOOOOO gassy, and having problems with it! a lot of crying, and not sleeping at night. i went thru the elimination diet with DS, and found he had a dairy allergy but it has been 3.5y since. please please help...i'm going to lose my mind!!!!

i know i saw a list someone posted of things they could eat....i think that was here

If you do a total elimination diet:

fruit is ok (not berries or citrus(
rice
barley
millet
lamb
poultry
avacados

served plain jane style.

I have a gassy LO as well and I took out Soy products (that was the only thing left- I am already eating a bland diet) and DS is much better -- I think. Soy is in so much stuff I eat... now to figure out new things to eat <sigh>

honestly, a lot of fruits bother my LO's ... esp those high in salicylates. see feingold.prg for a lst of "no" fruits.. my kids go BONKERS on apples and plums... here is what I eat.. only

chicken
beef
turkey
flounder or tilapia or wild atlantic salmon
lamb

rice
corn
millet
flax
quinoa

bananas
kiwi
melon
mango
papaya
pears

avocado
lettuce
spinach
green beans (although suspect..)

carrots
yams/sweet potatoes
winter squash

ghee
olive oil
grape seed oil
flax oil
organic coconut oil

salt
pepper (only alittle)
lemon juice (only a little)
raw honey (a little)

Water
chamomile tea

I will use the gluten free baking mixes or things like Vans waffles and do OK with them

unfortunately this is not a very balanced diet but it cuts back the SCREAMING so it is worht it to me... but , honestly, as a nutritionist as well as chiro I can't actually reccomend it since it is very short on greens and calcium and other things.. He cries when I take a multi vit also so that is out too... I just keep reminding myself this is temporary

A true total elimination diet is

rice
lamb
pears
water

for ten days then one by one introduce foods (single ingredient) one intro every 48 hrs and document the reaction
