Tara Grace arrived 8:55 p.m. on October 29th. She weighs 7 pounds 5 oz & is 21 inches long. She is breast feeding great. I got to cut the cord after it stopped pulsating. Mom was in intense labor for 3 hours - darn pictocin was supposed to be turned down then off per the OBGYN doc BUT the nurse had her own agenda. I wish I had be able to speak with the doc before hand.
We had a lot of support from our doula (Jen) and a OBGYN student (Erica) who the doula asked if she could be there. Erica wanted to see how doula's worked in the labor rooms. So we were under the impression she was going to be an observer. Nope. As soon as labor kicked in, she jumped right in and comforted my wife.
Our family is adjusting to our newest addition. Since we been home, DS is already asking to hold her on rare occasions - at least it is a start. I only hope his positive behavors continue. Mom & I (Dad) are trying to get back into waking up evry 2 hours again! UG! One look at her face and you pretty much forget about how tired you are.
