My ex calls my ds "BUBBA" ( shudder. ) (no offense to those who may call their dc bubba, but we are from the north and that doesn't have great implications. It just always suprised me that exh would use that name.)

Shelley, mom to dd 5/19/01, ds 9/06/02, and ds 4/01/07.  Lost babe 4/09

Like someone else mentioned, this is rather embarassing....but here goes:

Son #1: we really just had variations of his name--we still call him Zainey, but now I guess we just call him late for dinner (pa-ta-pum)

Son #2: This is the embarassing one....His name is Asher so we came up with every derivative imaginable: Smasher, Asher the Masher, Ashey,Smack (people gave us funny looks when we talked about "picking up the Smack)

Son #3: Attie, Atticus-Butticus, Fatticus,

Son #4: So far is just Van or Ivey...but I'm sure we will come up with some good ones.

Side note: When we were deciding on a name for Ivan, Asher decided that we all needed new names. Since his favorite letters at the time were X and W he was sure that they had to be in his name....so his new name became Ashwerx...He has lately changed that to Ash Cruise--no idea.

Asher's names for the other boys was "Santhamo" for Zain (his version of chrysanthamum), and Opal for Atticus. Amanda for my wife, and "Father" for me.

Now, Attie refers to himself as Opal and we find ourselves referring to him the same way. Today, Ashey reffered to him as Opie....So who knows what name he will grow up with.

Fun thread!

The only nickname our little bean-to-be has so far is Sweet Pea, which is what my dad started calling it as soon as he found out I was pregnant.

But after reading names like Skinchmaster Flash, Gribble Grotchkins, and Zooberflute, I HAD to share my dad's nickname for me when I was little: Goobie Goobleson. (He still calls me "Goobie" on occasion!)

OK our son's name is James Bradley, but we've digressed and I think he thinks his name is The Squeak. Also:
Squeakerbutt
Mr. Squeak
Bug Bug
Bugley Boo
Squeakbug Monsterling
Pee Monster
The Fleder Squeak (said with a German accent)
Squeakonator (also said with a German accent)
And any odd combination/derivative of the above

Mama to James 4-05 and Leland 7-07, and feeling so privileged to be growing kiddo #3 due in September!

My son's name is Eliaah, and he's always been Eliaah Papaya, or Papaya or just pay (pie) ....his papa calls him monster, mino (as in the tiny fish), pooh-let, and the newest....when my son turned 2 he started calling me mamoo, and his papa papoo...and now he is only known as "yai-yoo" he will not call himself anything but that....his uncle started calling him "yai-yooga" (as in the sound of an old fashioned car horn) so now he's yai-yooga, and he calls me ma-mooga, and papa...pap-ooga.

When Jayden was about 4 months old he had his first runny nose. One day, my neighbour was over and the baby laughed...his nose just exploded EVERYWHERE. She called him "Boogerface" and it stuck. We'll probably still call him Boogerface when he's in highschool. The sad part of it - he answered to "Boogerface" months before he ever answered to "Jayden".

Brendan is 2 months old right now, and since we've been in the hospital he's been called Peanut. He was a month early and only 5 pounds at birth. A particular nurse in the hospital called him Peanut everytime she came into our room. It stuck, and just like his brother, he'll probably answer to that before his name :P

I have an oldest son, Dominic, whom I have always called "Bubby" or "Bubby Boy." Many of my friends also refer to him as "The Dominator" because he has always been very tall and muscular for his age.

My youngest son, Tony, is a divine and gorgeous 2-year old who has been diagnosed with severe autism this past year. Luckily, we had an early diagnosis. I call him a few incredibly strange names, but have lost track of why.

I call him "Baboolie Mas Farfale" and "Baboolish" for some crazy reason. And when he was younger and constantly teething, I called him "Droolio" because he...well...he drooled a LOT!

I think the "Baboolie" name was an extension of Droolio...from Droolio to Baboolio.

I just like the way the names roll off my tongue.

My wife thinks I am nuts, of course.

She and I also both call Tony by a short name...Ton.

I too make up names pretty constantly. And I use "monkey" & "booty" whole lot.

My older kids might be Poodle Tushy or Smoochie Monkey Buns or Barbara Jones (I often just make up whole names to call them, gigglesnort).

The baby is Boobles, Boob, Mr Booby Baby, Squeaky Booty, Grunty, Tooty Booty, Monkey tooty Tushy, Meadow Muffin, Mr GrumplePants, Mr Monkey Pants, Mr Pants, My little squeaky monkey booby booty....... my list never really ends. I love calling my kids goofy names to make them laugh every single day. I also call my DP dorky things like "My darling love pastry who is going to love me forever & ever no matter what or I will smash his toes" all in one fast breath. Haha. We're a bunch of dorks over here. It takes work to talk like normal people when we're in public.

North Idaho rural living  mama to: 23 yo DD, 16 yo DS, 8 yo DS, 6 yo DS, 4 yr old DS, 2 yo DD, and 1 yo DS. And someone new coming this Christmas!
