This thread caused some introspection for me. I don't call my dd's any nicknames. Maybe it's got something to do with the neighbors I had growing up. The father called the son 'Dipstick' his whole life, all 17 years of it.

Oh gosh... there have b een so many- 3 kids, eldest is 8 1/2, and they have nicknames for each other!

My eldest calls my youngest (4 1/2) "Squeaky". I call him "Mr. Noah" and "Noah Boy" and "Monkey Butt" or "monkey". I call my middle kid (Nataleigh) "Nattles".

ETA: There seem to be a LOT of "monkey"'s and "monkey butt"'s on here!

dd is Sweatpea, Little Mouse, Pinkie, Soggy Bottom Girl, A.C., Kicking Bird, Little Bird, Bird, Onion Loaf (I dunno), Bimble , Puppybunny, or Cheeks. Oh, and we pretty much make any word a diminutive for her by putting "Li'l" in front of it.

Fun thread, man.:

I forgot to tell what Andrej calls his little sister: "Piggy Booby Baby." Piggy, because of the "This little piggy went to market" rhyme that we do on her feet. He often says "She's SO PIGGY!!!" and BOOBY is not what you might think; he has never heard that word (we live in the Cz. Republic and he only knows vulgar Czech words!) It is from "BOO-BOO-BOO," which we say when we nuzzle Amadea's little face.

He also came up with an adjective to describe her: BRISCOLLY. It means, he said, funny, happy, cute, and hairy (Amadea has lots and lots of hair). Only babies can be briscolly, and Amadea is the most briscolly baby he knows.

Well, my oldest daughter's "name" is Wodi. Her REAL name is Madison but since she's been verbal she ONLY responds to "Wodi." That's what everyone calls her - if they want her to listen anyhow!!

DD has had so many nicknames. bug; L-bug; babygirl; monkey; all the usuals, but the one that has stuck since birth is the one i pinned her with.

Munchie. I call her munchie because she's like me, she is always eating something. We both have extremely high metabolisms, we eat our weight in food and loose weigh from the effort of eating it lol, so munchie fits her in every situation.

So far (I'm pregnant with #1) our little one is just called "little one", "wee one", or, DH's favorite, "Eschy". Eschy is short of Eschscholzia, the genus of California poppy (DH is a botanist), and has been our hypothetical kid name for a couple of years. That's all we have so far, but given my family's track record, I'm sure we'll have a ton of names once the little one is born.

While I'm here, though, I thought I'd share nicknames from growing up. Mine: Kritto, Kikos, Fritto, Gigosh, Tittle, Sissy (pronounced SEE-SEE), Kiddo, Babe. My little sis: Munchkin, Munchkin-butt, Sissy, HeatherWeatherFeatherBeather, HeatherHunnyFunnyBunny, and Pompice de Espana. My little bro: Bugaboo, which changed to Bug (I'm the only one allowed to call him this - he's 15), Brudder, Buddy, Trav, Munchkin.

Great thread!

I call my son:
Monkey, Peanut, Bun Boy (he loves to streak around the house) and Sweetpea.

The one on the way, I call Turtle : ) Just because I saw a turtle on our doorstep a few weeks ago and I think it's a symbol of feminine energy...I think she's a girl.
