I just don't know what to get my husband. I would LOVE to get him a PS3 but that just isn't happening. He loves history, movies, books, games (football and games like civilization and medal of honor). I'm just clueless as to what is out there. : What do you Dads want for Christmas?

I want: http://harshrealities.info/ben/?p=441

I just can't justify spending $350 for an electronic book reader.

If he likes Napoleonic era seafaring epics, the Horatio Hornblower books and DVDs are nice.

Kohl's is having a 50% off everything in the store sale every Saturday morning from 8am - noon in my area. Their shirts and pants are finally reasonable!

Those DVDs look like something he might be interested in. Thanks!

If he has time to read, the books are monumentally better. Though, I have to admit, they're not easy to find...

Amazon: Horatio Hornblower books

Wikipedia entry on Horatio Hornblower

I am almost finished with the 10th book and disappointed that they are drawing to a close...

For the lover of History AND Books:

Flashman by George McDonald Frasier

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Paget_Flashman

There are 12 of these books out ... the author is still alive and writing! And the older ones will be available for about a dollar at: www.abebooks.com

a great read for all! both DH and I love them.

"The half-scholarly tone has occasionally led to misunderstandings; when first released in the United States, ten of 34 reviews published took it to be a real, albeit obscure, memoir. Several of these were written by academics - to the delight of The New York Times, which published a selection of the more trusting reviews."

If he likes Civilization, get him Civ IV if he doesn't have it yet. You can also try a series of Bond DVD's, or "24" - Jack Bauer- DVD's. "Band of Brothers might also work. Does he play poker? A nice poker set with an appropriate book. Better yet, a cool board game that you could play with him might be nice.

Good luck

you could put the cash you would spend on a gift, put in in an envelope and label it "PS3 to start". Then after he opens it, stick it under the mattress and stuff it with money every now and then.

Just a thought.....
