Congratulations on beginning your life with children in the coming year.

I heartily recommend Dr. Sears' books, because he is a father, has a laid-back approach, and is an attachment parenting champion.

My favorite is the classic, "The Attachment Parenting Book", and "Father's First Steps" would be right on-target probably.

This is not specifically aimed at dads, but the breastfeeding book "So That's What They're For, Breastfeeding Basics" by Janet Tamaro is very funny and also accurate, and I recommend it highly. I think a dad would be amused and learn something too from it.

Take the time to heal from your marriage before you move on with someone else. Make a list of all the qualities you would like in a new partner and then work on growing that way yourself. ~mandib50

Sounds like I need to start writing...

Please, though, please, please, please mention to him that the black tar (myconeum?) is normal in newborns and not to be upset/concerned about what his lady/wife was eating...

Oh, yeah, and babies are kinda like rats in that they "mark their territory" with urine, feces and vomit. (Not really, but if he thinks of it in that light, he may be able to face it a little better thinking that it's because the baby likes him...)

That's such a great idea! I think I will tell him that.
