Just a quick question ...

I feel baby move quite abit, shifting about each day and stuff which is lovely, i have only had 2 quite strong movements like kicks of baby so far and the rest is just like little shifting about ... but DH can not feel anything on the outside yet ? is this still normal ... and how long does it roughly take before you can feel baby on the outside ... My twin sister said when she was pregnant she could definately feel it on the outside by now ??? ...... Im 20 weeks and 2 days ...

I'll be 20 weeks on Thursday and I can't feel it on the outside and don't expect to for several weeks. It's perfectly normal. Also, I have quite the flabby tummy, so unless I was skinny and my tummy was getting tight, I wouldn't expect to feel anything outside.

I can't feel anything on he outside yet and I don't think its odd that I haven't. I'm 19 weeks. I feel kicks about 5-6 times a day usually when I'm sitting quietly or laying down. I don't even think I felt anything on the outside w/dd and I was definitly skinnier then.

I'm 20 weeks now and have lots of internal movement, but even with the strongest kicks and I can't feel them externally yet. I think I was about 22 weeks last time when I could feel it.

20w6d. I can very rarely feel it from the outside. My husband did feel some movement a couple nights ago but he had to jam his hand into my uterus and wait a while - and that was it. I dunno if he'll feel it again for a long while.

Not here yet either - I'm just over 18 weeks.

With my dd (I was much smaller four years ago ) I still didn't feel anything until 26 or 27 weeks.

I've felt it a few times on the outside, but not often. Then again I just really started feeling movement this week.

This time we've felt the baby on the outside already and DH swears he saw her roll over once... that was several weeks ago, and I'm only 19 weeks now...

However, this is a very different experience from the other two. I didn't feel movement with either of my girls (inside or out), until 18 weeks, and DH didn't feel anything until at least 6 months. I'm pretty sure he just wasn't patient enough to sit there with his hand on my stomach, but even when he'd have his hand there and the baby would kick he said he couldn't feel it... so I don't think that's uncommon. (btw, I'm NOT "fluffy"... I actually have a very flat tummy when not pregnant, so it definitely wasn't fluff getting in the way)

Just over 18 weeks and I can't feel any outside movement either. There are times he kicks and I just swear that if my hand was on it I'd been able to feel it, but we haven't felt any kicks. I am so ready though, I can't wait to see my boys' reaction when they feel him move.

Not feeling anything external yet, and even internal movement seems pretty laid-back. I feel some-I'm not worried by any means--but I only feel it a couple times a day, and not very strong.

I am a fluffy mama, so I'm sure that is part of it, but I also think this baby is hiding behind the placenta. I think the placenta is right up front this time, and that definitely absorbs some of the kicks. I'm going to have the midwife help me pinpoint the placenta's position this week, and if it is as I think, it wouldn't surprise me if it's several more weeks before dh can feel anything!

The other possibility is that this baby is just a very laid-back and calm little person.....as lovely as that sounds, I dare not get my hopes up!

I'm 19 weeks 5 days and can't feel anything on the outside - and actually, I don't feel a whole lot on the inside either - I do feel the baby moving occasionally - but sometimes I go a couple days without really feeling much.

I'm 22 weeks today, and I don't feel anything from the outside yet either. I just started feeling regular movement a week ago, though. My placenta is anterior.

I just started the 22nd week & just started feeling movement on the outside last week. Stevie got to feel it too. It's fun! I'm not over or underweight, though I do have a thick waist.

I'm a week or so behind you & I don't feel anything on the outside yet, either. I don't remember when I did with the twins. I'm not feeling a lot of movement inside yet, either, just here and there.

It is fun to feel the baby move from the outside. It will happen any day.

I'm 23 weeks and only started feeling movement from the outside this past week. Had my u/s on Tues. and the placenta is "on top" (anterior) so this is probably cushioning the kicks. I had the same placental placement with my last pregnancy so I haven't been worried.

I am feeling the baby only on the inside. Once I think I saw my stomach move a couple of times out of the corner of my eye, but this little sneak wouldn't let me catch him/her! And when my husband touches my stomach the baby gets super still.

I am almost 20 weeks, and I have an anterior placenta- (for the first time!) So I feel very little- and it's totally inconsistant- One day I'll feel a lot and the next day- Nothing! I know it's OK because I've seen him squirming around in there on the ultrasound...I just can't feel it!

I also feel the baby on and off. Sometimes not for the whole day. Then I get worried (first timer) and drink something super cold or a bit of juice to kick up movement. I was convinced the placenta was blocking things but at my 21 week ultrasound it was nice and high. Go figure.

I haven't felt the outside movement yet, except for once last week. I think I felt it much earlier the first time on the outside movements... but only because my stomach was much firmer and skinnier then.

I am 24 weeks and I just started feeling the kicks on the outside at 23 weeks. I was really fixating on it at first, because I had not felt anything except the flutters, adn then all of a sudden, my whole belly kept moving. My honey got to feel it too, finally. Do not worry...it will happen. It's so hard when you comapre yourself to other pregnant women because I did the exact thing. How come I'm not feeling the baby yet? She did at 20 weeks! There must be something wrong....Everyone is different. It will come.
Blessings to you and your family

I just began feeling my baby on the INSIDE a couple of weeks ago, so I think it will be a long time before I can feel him/her on the outside. I have a lot of mommy fat cushioning any kicks (and this baby does move A LOT). I am 21 weeks.

So I DID start feeling the baby from the outside about a week ago. The first time was the coolest! I was laying with my hands on my belly. I felt a kick and saw my hand move! My feeling is all down low still with the position of my placenta.

So, I went about two weeks between feeling inside kicks and feeling outside kicks.

I agree with the PP about not comparing yourself. I was so anxious wanting to feel those first kicks and so envious of everyone else! It will happen for you - it's one of those wonderful inevitabilities!

That happened to me the first time I felt the baby on the inside! I was complaining about not feeling any kicks and then pop, pop, pop I got three in a row.

I'm 19+4 and not feeling anything on the inside yet! I thought I got kicked a couple of nights ago but nothing since, and I don't even feel flutters.

I know bean is pretty lively as I can hear it moving through the doppler. I clearly just don't have a very sensitive belly!
