Okay...so since we're all getting down to the final days, what do we still have to do?

I need to:
-install carseat bases in all vehicles
-get dd's carseats in the correct vehiclesThis is now half-way done. I just have to get the Britax cover on and put it back in our van!
-buy birth kit/supplies and get them all set up in a laundry basket where they are easy to find and accessible I still have some towels and misc things to put to get and put in the basket.
-pack a "just in case" transfer bag and put it somewhere that DH knows where to find it but it is out of sight/out of mind so it isn't staring at me while I'm in labor taunting me with thoughts of something going wrong!
-iron the straps on my BH since they got wrinkled in the wash
-buy dd's twin captain's bed and set it up so she has her own space to sleep and read (she hates the toddler bed- it's too small!) Done!
-get new dresser set up and organized
-put curtains over our closet since there are no doors on it
-set up amby bed in our room so we have a spot to put sleeping baby
-bring the glider downstairs
-get the dog kennel put out in the laundry/utilty area so they aren't in the way during the birth
-do a test run of blowing up/filling the birth pool
-get everything in place for the announcements so all we have to do is fill in stats, print, and put in the pre-addressed envelopes

Finally got my list down to a size I'm not terribly embarrassed to share, LOL!

Various Supplies Still to Gather:

Soothies Breast Pads
Towels (10)
Washcloths (20)
Placenta Bowl
Coconut Oil
Mattress Protector

TO DO:
TO FINISH -purge toys, take another load to goodwill
TO DO -organize Elisha and Maggie’s closet
TO DO -stock freezer and pantry for post-partum
TO DO -Print hosp. transfer plan, post emergency numbers/route to hospital
TO DO - birth supplies....about 99% done (see list above)
TO DO -stock up on household stuff
TO DO-deep clean the house (windows, office, closet in guest room, scrub floors, shower stall)
TO DO-wash all carseats, reinstall
TO DO-finish packing away outgrown clothing

TO BUY/MAKE:
-contour changing pad for table
-sling
-dresser for Andrew
-finish crochet
-christmas gifts
-baskets for changing table and hutch
-crib mattress (for toddler bed--the old one needs replaced desperately!)
-crib mattress pad
-a few GN baby gowns--2 lightweight, 2 warmer

Didn't we have a thread somewhere about food for during/after labor? I'm working on a grocery list now....dh gets paid Friday and we'll probably do a big shopping trip (hopefully get everything for the month, plus all the obligatory christmas stuff done then). But on food, I'm drawing a blank.

I know we'll relax our standards a bit and do a lot more convenience-type food, like canned soup and so forth, but I just can't think....

I have nothing to do but.... LABOR.

I agree, those microfiber towels make great diapering material. I don't use FB's, I use homemade velcro closure diapers. I have a few being made right now with a pocket so I can stuff them with the microfiber towels. They're so thin and absorbent.

I guess finishing those would be on my things-to-do list, but I really don't want baby to wait for that, they won't even fit right away.

As of JUST THIS MINUTE I have finished the sleepy sack and hat that I started crocheting! Woot! And the special "first" diaper I ordered arrived Saturday! And I have an afghan made--although I must admit that it looks much more girly than I thought it would....I swear, the yarn in the skein looked much more GN than it turned out, so we'll see!

Maybe I'll make dh take me to the yarn store tonight and I can get some in a boyish colorway to start on, just in case (and then if my baby is a girl, I'll have a head start on a gift for my girl friend, who is having a boy in February!).

But I think I'm really pleased with the way the projects turned out. I know the sleeves of the sack are going to be too long, but oh well. The rest of it, I think, is cute, and the hat turned out very elf-like, which I'm thrilled with! I'm second-guessing my choice for buttons for the sack, but those are easy enough to replace if I decide I have to.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I can find the camera, LOL!

This weekend I was actually able to cross *everything* off my "To Do" and "To Buy" lists. All that's left is to get the house clean (DH will do a lot of that) and make sure my parents understand what their in-house coverage looks like; meaning, how long they'll be staying here and what's expected of them while they're here with Isabel and what's needed once DH goes back to work.

I've been doing really awesome at just cooking a bunch extra when I make stuff, so I already have a weeks' worth of homemade meals in the freezer. I just need to keep working on that this week, and add a few non-homemade meals, and we'll be in great shape.
