I have 3 pairs from my birthkit 2 years ago. It came with 4 pairs, I tried one, I hate them with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. They are size L, which probably means nothing really, since they are so stretchy.

Would anyone like them? Totally free--they won't cost me much to ship since they are so light. I hate to just throw them away, but there's no way I'll use them.

PM me with your address if you'd like them--first come, first serve!

I promise, I'll be discreet! I'll tell him it's prescription drugs, instead!

They shall arrive at your home in discreet, unmarked brown paper packaging. Or perhaps a plain padded envelope....but I promise there will be no hint of "funny mesh panty" escaping the package!

Yeah, thanks!

And Sarah, great idea- instead of funny underwear you're going to tell him you're just sending your friend some drugs.

Ew, don't even bother. It's so gross in a not-even-funny sort of gross way. It has to do with poop. I'm going to google mesh undies though.

I kinda surmised that, just based on other's reactions to it.....I think I'll be able to happily live the rest of my life without finding out exactly-for-sure what it means!

But my point was, I'm veeeeeeery afraid of Jen's google abilities. She's like a google ninja!

Sarah, can you tell me why you are so passionate about your hate for the undies? I'm getting ready to cave into peer pressure over them since normally everyone raves about how crucial they are. I'd love to hear your take before I buy them. I have an instinctive dislike of them but considering the fact that I've never had a baby and have never even seen these undies in person, I have no real reason to not get them. Lay the other perspective on me.

I think it stems from my childhood...

No, seriously! They remind me of the tights my mom used to make me wear when I was small--the crotch sorta sags between your legs like a hammock, and you can never keep them pulled up properly...and if you try to pull them up where they will stay, they end up giving you a huge wedgie. Now, I know SOME people like that--dream about it, in fact!

Also maybe not all mesh underwear are created equal, but these are "designed" (and i use the term quite loosely!) like the top portion of pantyhose, so they are supposed to come down on your thighs a bit. No crotch section, just a seam. And the very first thing those "legs" do, at least IME, is roll up like cheap window shades!

Let's just say that, as vile as they are, I much preferred wearing disposable Depends for the first couple of heavy-bleeding days!

But that's just me....

I have a few pairs of old ratty cotton underwear on their last legs. I think I'll just sacrifice those to the goddess of postpartum bleeding.
Unless, of course, I can find a pair of mesh undies that looks just like this.

OMG I had NO IDEA that there was a whole industry out there for MEN's MESH UNDERWEAR!! : : Those are just a bit different from the post partum pad holding hospital grade silly little white things that *I* had always pictured as being the only "mesh underwear" in the world.

I picked the most ridiculous ones I saw & emailed the link to my husband, asking him if he'd like some for Christmas.

That was the name of dh's last band. "The Hot Karl Trio". They did mostly jam band/funk stuff, but it was a play off the drummer's nickname. And what it means.

I'm starting to think it's a good thing that I clarified "post-partum" in this thread title!

I'm thinking y'all have better google engines than I.....I finally googled, but didn't come up with any images at all! Just waaaaaay more websites selling men's mesh than I ever could have imagined!

Gosh, I guess I really expected to see at least ONE link that had something to do with PP mesh.

Is it weird that apparently mesh underwear are such a big thing with men, but not with women? Have they been keeping us oppressed in our tight-weave undies? I'm sure I'm missing some point....

Ah, see, you need to do a google image search. That's where the real gems show up.

I just did a regular Google search but I got a million men's mesh underwear sites that are selling the underwear. So there were lots of pictures of men modeling the undies. Very large, buff, manly men, in itty bitty fuschia mesh panties. :
HAHA.

I'm going to PM you the link to the most ridiculous ones I saw Sarah, because I'm pretty sure linking them on MDC isn't allowed. But I want you to see them because they're reeeeally funny (think men's underwear that are shaped roughly like an elephant).

And yeah, WHO KNEW?! I mean, I don't remember EVER coming across a guy wearing those kind of underwear in all my promiscious years! Who's wearing them?? And why are they only men?? LOL

Yeah, me neither, and my promiscuous years came to a halt approximately, um, eight months ago. I feel sort of cheated out of a vital life experience.
I'd say straight guys aren't the target consumer group for mesh undies, and I've primarily seen only straight guys in a state of undress, so that would explain why my life has been see-through-boy's-knickers-less. Until now, that is.
