MamaFern--

I understanf your concern, especially if you get a diagnosis of polyhydramnios, since it can mean there are structural defects in the baby's gut. However, it can also mean nothing. In my case, my son was perfectly normal. We have no idea why I had polyhydramnios.

Last pregnancy my midwife kept telling me that I was measuring ahead, mostly due to the fact that "there is quite a bit of extra mama there" aka mom's a fatarse.

MamaFern and neverdoingitagain - I'm in BC, too!

mambear, i asked my midwife about that because i have a tummy over my baby bump too and she said that it doesn't affect it that much.. on the other hand the dr. i saw was sure i was just measuring big cause im fat. go figure.

anyways, soon the mystery will be solved. i have an ultrasound tomorow at 10:30 am...then a midwife appt. after that.. i'll know soon whats going on (im still sure its just one baby in there) i did see a dr. in the meantime to try to get an ultrasound where we live (what a waste of time..he was a total jerk..read my above statement) and he measured me at 29..so smaller than my midwife, but again, measuring isn't as accurate as we would like. in some ways i wish thAt i had just kept UPing so i wouldn't be worrying because i feel like im measuring just fine for where i am...

so ill update you all tomorow. thanks for the support!

MamaFern, weighing over 140lbs puts the range of normal measurement from 3cm under number of weeks to 4cm over. Not that much difference Sorry.

You know, there was a thread in another DDC about a ob/gyn near Prince George. Is it a BC thing that OB's are jerks?

Not in any ddc (came her form new posts) butr had to respond.

No, not BC thing, I don't think. The OB/GYN I had for my c-section was awesome! I've never heard anything negative about him either. Everyone loves him.

Of the other OB's in town, one I've heard is good, another one my mom wnet to and he's not so great, and the other one i have met I can't stand. I"d never want her near me again.

So there is at least one awesome OB/GYN in BC!

Nothing to worry about necessarily. I would not be comfortable with a midwife that jumped the guns so much about something so small.

At one point in my 2nd pregnancy I measured 6cm ahead and the next month I measured 1cm behind.
Ds was 7lbs 3oz at birth.

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

yeah.if it was a midwife who i wasn't familiar with, i would also feel that way..but she has been my MW twice before and has never ever "jumped the gun" on anything. even when my previous MW thought i was huge with my son, she said i was fine..She is super chill and laid back and hands off in every way and so i feel like she has reason to believe what she does. KWIM?

and its a girl!

and.... nothing seems at all amiss.. my midwife says everything looks great and baby is measuring right on (or so it seems) and she isnt going to worry about it anymore.

so glad to have this over with!
