You know, I did kegels religiously with dd#1 and still found pushing to be incredibly difficult, and still tore (but that was probably for other reasons like the fact that I was a hospital transfer and had to purple push lying on my back).

This time, I have to be honest, I feel a little apathetic. I'm still doing them but in a half-a$$ed way. Oh well, come on girl, get on it!

I just find them so hard to do! Even when I do remember, I get so frustrated that I give up after a few maybe's. I've asked my partner to let me know if he can feel me squeezing when he's inside and he invariably says no. More frustration!

My midwives have given me all the tricks about identifying the muscles that allow you to stop your pee mid-stream(which I CAN do), and using fingers to check in the bath, etc, etc...but honestly, it seems that those muscles just do not respond to my will!

Anybody else have this trouble? Any tips?

Thanks for letting me vent!

bump!

this is for my sake, and the sake of everyone else refreshing this page so many times each day. maybe if i see this thread, i'll actually DO something about it!

you'd think that by now, thoughts about pregnancy would be so all-encompassing that it'd be easy to remember to do kegels. but i'm still forgetting! (sometimes, i'm even forgetting that i'm pregnant!.... do you think that's pregnant brain setting in?)

peace,
hcm

I've been pretty consistent, but I don't do the amount I should. I usually do about 10 or so, a couple times day.

I'm going to try to explain this as PC as possible to avoid getting this thread pulled but this is what worked for me. While dtd I had dh pull out a bit and I tried as hard as I could to stop him from pulling out using that muscle. It gets easier with more practice and it is MUCH easier for me to do them while dtd then it is for me to do them alone. I can't hold the muscle for longer than a half second when I try to do them alone , though I haven't tried much.

I'm going to start doing mine though Good thread.

Ahem. I did a few Kegels last night as a part of my yoga video. Haven't been doing them regularly or anything. Just sometimes.

Anybody else?

anytime I find myself doing something baby related, I remember to do my kegels. If I'm folding newborn laundry, picking up my pregnancy book to read, sewing diapers, or watching a birth video on youtube(lol), it reminds me to kegel!! good luck ladies!!
