Apparently, more babies are born on new moon and full moon days.
There is a full moon Dec 24th(you have been warned *shudder*)
New moon Jan 7th?
Full moon Jan 22rd?
New moon Feb 6th?

Maybe we should start a pool to see who all ends up giving birth on a moon day

waiting on the power of the three wolf moon.

I've heard that too...I mentioned to my midwife that I was born on a full moon, and she said that women often give birth under same moon phase as when they conceived. You can search here if you know the date of conception: http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/vphase.html

The moon phase during which this LO was conceived falls ONE DAY after my EDD. Who knows....but I'm kind of thinking maybe that day??

Interesting, I had been wondering about that. My EDD is the 30th but I've been feeling like she'd be born in February. Hopefully not waiting until the 6th though! Eeek! How about the 22nd of Jan instead

Wife to my Denali-climbing DH
Mom to DD born Jan. 08 and DS born Oct. 09, and "baby sister" due Oct 2013!
House mom to ten boys, ages 8-11 at a group home! Yes, I must be nuts!

There was a new moon the day after I supposedly ovulated, and my due date by ovulation would be the 7th. Go figure.

well we conceived on a full moon and the nearest full moon is dec. 24th. We were expecting to go into labor day after even though my due date isn't until the 11th of jan. we'll see how it goes. I'm hoping I make it that far. I'm having all the preterm labor symptoms without the actual labor as far as I can tell. So I've been trying to either lie down on my left side on the couch a lot or sit here and drink more water.

Looks like this babe was conceived on a full moon; nearest full moon to my DD is Jan 22, which is a week late....blech. I won't mind going late if I do, but I'll be upset, because my best friend is coming up the 15th and staying for a week; she'll miss the baby! :

interesting, and from my experience, accurate
#1 was born on full moon, #2 on new the new moon
so, I'm actually expecting to deliver on my due date this time /the 22nd.
#1 was 2 wks early, and #2 was 6 days early
We'll see

The empty moon is a new moon, so it looks to me like you conceived on a new moon too.

my due date is also jan 11, but I fully expect to be one of the dec 24 full mooners (or sooner) though my mother is predicting Jan 2 for some reason lol

Well, I'm "due" the 23rd, and DS1 came on his due date (today is his first birthday! I keep thinking about what I was doing last year this time -- first nursing, chasing around the hospital, warming on my chest, etc.). DS's b-day was a full week before the new moon, so smack in betwee new and full and definitely doesn't match the pattern, but I wouldn't be surprised if this one came a day early.

This is fun!

DD1:
conceived: 9/3/03 (exactly on 1st quarter moon)
born: 5/2/04 (full moon = 5/4)

DD2:
conceived: around 1/13/05 (new moon = 1/10/05)
born: 10/7/05 (new moon = 10/3/05)

DD3:
conceived: around 4/13/07 (new moon = 4/17/07)
EDD: 1/4/07
New Moon: 12/9
Full Moon: 12/23 or 24 (depending on which calendar I look at)
New Moon: 1/7 or 8 (depending on which calendar I look at)

I'll take 12/9!
