There's this little fold of skin right at the top of my bellybutton which has been pulled pretty taut for about a month. In the past couple of days it's gotten so incredibly tight that it hurts ALL DAY. It literally feels like the next time I bend over, it's going to bust like a seam. I think the problem is that I used to have a bellybutton ring that I took out a few years ago, and the hole healed up weirdly (like it has an adhesion inside or something).

It's getting pretty painful. Not sure what to do, but thought I'd at least vent. : If I do actually burst like some kind of overripe fruit I'll let you all know.

wife to DH since 10/03, mama to DS (12/07)
also mom to small zoo: 3 snakes, 4 and one very lovable pit bull

My DR. keep assuring me I'll just keep stretching! My belly is SO tight, it hurts all the time! I don't hink yours will pop open, but it will certianly keep pulling! I have no belly button anymore, just a 3 inch wide stretch mark!!!!! It's HUGE! Wonder what it will look like after the babies are out?!?

I feel your pain. This is my second pregnancy and it is really bothering me. I used to have a piercing there too, and while it didn't "burst open" with ds, it did get some interesting stretch marks, which I feel are growing to their fullest potential now. All the itching and burning is just reminding me of the lovely weblike pattern I have going around there. Keeping my belly lubed up with coconut oil or lotion helps with the sensation though.

My 4 year old asked me yesterday if my belly was going to split open.

I didn't want to freak him out by telling him that it feels like it just might.

Try rubbing some arnica oil into the skin. That sounds ouchie, you poor things!! My innie belly button is still all tucked in, despite moose fetus.

Ohh, arnica oil sounds like a good idea. I have really tight painful skin around my old piercing hole too.
