So I've packed 12 newborn prefolds, 12ish KL0's, my two adorable NB Mutts (I wish I had more of these!), my three pieces of NB wool, 5 NB covers and two snappis as well as about 2 dozen wipes. Should that be enough for an overnight hospital stay?

If my GBS test came back positive (I'll find out on Monday) I'll probably have to stay 48 hours *insert huge eye roll* since I'll be declining antibiotics. I guess I'd probably stick the rest of my prefolds (I have two dozen total) in the bag in that case but might consider just going with 'sposies. Bleh. Though I have heard newborns don't really rip through a lot of diapers in those first couple of days.

You'd think I could remember but it's been over 7 years now since my last birth and it's all just a big haze.

Sounds like enough. If anything you could keep the extras in the car and your husband or someone could always go down and get more if needed if staying longer! Be sure and take some kind of wetbag to put the dirty ones in too.

Married to a Navy man of 12 yrs.

Alas, no car to keep them in. I can send someone after them if we needed to I reckon.

Yeah, I don't have a proper wet bag yet so I'm taking giant ziplock bags. Classy!

Sounds like too many to me...

I don't remember more than 3-4 actual "events" that would require diaper changing in the 48 hours we were in the hospital last time...though of course I changed it more often because I wanted to keep checking -- nervous about milk.

it's great to rub a little olive oil, or Burt's Bees Apricot Oil on the bum for those greasy meconium poops. I had a little bottle in my diaper bag, and since Papa was on diaper duty in the hospy, he was sure glad I did.

We didn't go through many diapers, though we were only there 24 hours. In fact, we were pretty much diaper-free the whole time. I was trying to keep track of wet/dirty diapers. I think Rhiannon had 4-5 poops which is extremely unusual (1 of each the 1st day, 2 of each the 2nd day, is more the norm)
OT- sadly we're using sposies/cd'ing right now. I'm going to start her on EC very soon.

waiting on the power of the three wolf moon.

Yeah, I'd heard about that but was wondering how that might effect the cloth diapers. I guess if I use it with the prefolds it's not a big deal. I don't have any liners or anything. I do have a little bottle of the Burt's Bees Apricot Oil.

I am always so impressed by you Mamas who bring cloth to the hospital. We mainly CD at home, but I am just too exhausted after labor etc so we bring sposies to the hospital :

That's why I've trained my 8 year old to do laundry.

If you check out the last paragraph on here ( GMD website ) it suggests using olive oil.
