unite!

What are you working on?
Gimme the whole long list- I know I've got mine. I have over-acheiver written all over my forehead I think:
And only 7 more months!AHHHHHHHHHHH!

So far, this is what I have in the works, and am working on, just because I can't help myself

quilt for dd.Easy one, but big and lots of sewing.
sweater for dh(just the sleeves to do and sew on now)
sweater for dd, cast on this morning-been meaning to make it for awhile now.
another diaper bag for me, sewn
lace shawl for me
bolero sweater for me(an easy knit)
and of course lots of soakers and diaper covers and dresses and baby clothes and accessories, and diapers.

So, am I the only crazy one?

Due with number 5 in August. We do all that crunchy stuff.

Yeah, you are crazy. Dang, that's a loooong list.
I don't knit, but "learning to knit --AGAIN" is always on my to-do list.
I do sew, and on my list is

monkey pjs for my dd's ninth birthday
Pretty pretty tiered, ruffled skirt for my dd's ninth birthday

hem two pairs of jeans for my petite teenager

finally hem this one pair of maternity jeans so I can stop stepping on the heels!

teach my oldest two girls to sew like I promised I would this summer

Note: dd's ninth b-day was 2 days ago so I am already behind. The only thing keeping me from these projects is the fact that I can't seem to keep my eyes open.

I don't have a list but some of the things I would like to get done off the top of my head are:

PJ bottoms for the kids
diaper bag (I got some gorgeous butterfly brocade for 80% off the other day!)\
Some cloth wipes for another MDC mama and prob some more for me too
a wet bag
something for my Aunt when she finds out if she is having a boy or a girl
some shorts for DS
theres more I have tons of projects cut and ready to sew I have just been so tired lately. I don't knit either but have been trying to learn.

I'm going to start sewing diapers, but probably not until we find out the gender. I'm all about gender specific prints, lol. I really don't have that many that I need to sew (especially if it's another boy) due to DS's stash.

I might sew another pouch sling too.

I'm crafty too. I have lots of knitting plans - diaper covers, sweaters, bonnets (my specialty). And sewing plans - diapers, wipes, pjs bottoms for the family, carriers and who knows what else?...

I "need" to make a newborn and small diaper stash for the new one. Just waiting on my PUL now!

I'm also still working on diapers for my new neice (night diapers and covers and then I'll be into mediums for her)

Then I want to sew some little tiny things for the new one. And I'll probably find some things that I want to make for DD (like there's already her list that's on the go...)

funny how the list of things to sew never seems to get any smaller isn't it!

To knit -

Soakers! And maybe a hat/cardigan/socks or something for the baby.

To sew -

Looking for a pattern for a nursing maternity top. And maybe a diaper bag. And maybe a sling. Probably a couple of outfits for older DD.

oops! forgot to add all those as well. haha.

I am also finishing dd's doll , and plan to make 2 ring slings. I made a lot of pouches already but if I find some killer fabric I may make more. A good mei tei or two is definitely on my list.

I do have things to make for others as well, which is why my stuff isn't done.

Did I mention I got a serger and need to learn to use it?:

Probably nothing

My tendonitis gets really bad during pregnancy, and knitting makes it worse.

Anyone have a link to a taggie like blanket, I think that would make a super cute gift for my aunt?

I want to sew tonight but am to tired to drag everything out, do you all have a sewing room or space? Mine is the top of the entertainment center until I want to use it then I pull out the folding table (behind the couch) and set up where it usually sits for weeks until I put it all back on top of the entertainment center.

My kitchen? Soon I will get a table for my machines to sit on.

My place is small, so i have a corner in my kitchen just for me. There is no way I could have it in my room, since we don't play in there all day.

Hi there!

I love sewing. I don't have a serger, but I haven't missed it yet, and I've made lots of stuff for friends.

I'm going to make:

LOTS of flat-fold diapers. I'm planning on using old flannel sheets that I find on sale, and whatever flannel is on sale at the fabric store.

The covers that I make and buy will be cutsie, I don't need the actual diapers to be adorable.

Also, Mamma pads for post-birth, some soaker pads for baby and a dolly.

I WANT to make:

Some crib blankets
swaddle blankets
car-seat snuggle "bag"
shopping-cart seat cover
shower sling (I have had the material for this for ages)
regular sling
wet bag

That's it for now! I'm going to start as soon as the weather gets bad.

Trin.

Huzzah!!!!

(first time I've ever used that word, did I pull it off?)

I was led to a blog that contains tutorials for both nursing tops and "fuller tummy" tops...combine the two, and voila! a nursing maternity top!!! Now I just need to find fabric.

When I was just pregnant this time around, my joints in my fingers would lock up while I was sewing. Freaky! That has stopped, luckily!

I have serious craft ADD, and I'm glad I got rid of my sewing machine because knitting takes up enough brain space as it is!

right now I have a ribby wrap to put buttons on, I've started a lavender raglan-sleeved sweater, a white hemp summer dress is nearly done (I'm convinced baby is a girl), and I want to make both my kids cardigans for Merry for next winter and a friend sent me the Mommy Snug maternity sweater pattern so I want to get that yarn with the birthday money that will be coming soon. Not to mention I'm doing the sock it to me sock swap (say THAT 10 times fast!) so I have to finish the socks for my pal before October (size 10 Baudelaires, it took me 3 weeks to do the first one and I'm afraid it might be too small) and I want to make Christmas stockings this year.

Bean at coyotecraft.etsy.com makes pretty ones. I'm not sure if she has any listed, but she might be willing to make a custom one for you if you ask nicely

Ok......so this sounds horrible, but I bought a sewing machine and serger and even have a table set up in our rec room. I went out and bought a whole bunch of material and different craft items to make, but LITERALLY haven't even touched the thing!! Isn't that awful!! I have been soo busy, or lazy, that I haven't even gone down stairs to organize everything, it's terrible I know~

Here is the plan though:
-Diaper/Burp Rags- the really trendy kind with ribbon sewn on the cloth diapers, I think they are soo cute......not a true sewing project, but for me it is!!
-Baby blanket with that ultra plush new fabric on one side and a silky material on the other....with a silky border. Again not hard, but I'm not paying $70 for a blanket I could make.
-Mei-Tai carrier
-Pouch style Sling
-Diaper Bag/Pad and one of those matching Diaper & Wipes containers.

So, obviously I'm a beginner, but everyone's got to start somewhere right??

At least I can come here when I get stuck and need to ask questions!! You guys are pros!!

Thanks for that link! Just perfect! I've just started to pop out and finding all my pants except a few elastic ones, all getting too tight. But I don't want to get any maternity stuff just yet. Have lots of old jeans though. Hope to do this today!

Post pictures when you're done!!!

I need to pick up some tapestry thread, and am hitting up some thrift stores on Thursday, so I will probably make my first pair this weekend. Not really showing yet, but I can't button my pants and still breathe.

Quite a plan!
That's when you know it's time to conquer the intimidation and just do it!
I go through phases as well. I knit a whole bunch for 2 weeks or so, then the next 2 weeks I sew like a madwomen. I just do it. I dunno why. It also took me a while to get acquainted with my machine to where I felt it was worth my time to sit there. I can crank projects out now much more easily.

Due with number 5 in August. We do all that crunchy stuff.

Hello -- Yet another crafty lady interested in checking in, although I'm not nearly as motivated as some of you! Wow!
I've been feeling so cruddy that my new (used ) sewing machine has been sitting untouched for the last 6 weeks or so. And I was feeling so motivated before....
But, the reason I got online tonight was to look at a pillowcase dress pattern I want to make for my niece that I'm determined to start this week.
Also:
~ add buttons to a dress shirt that I made for my hubby (otherwise it's done!)
~ diaper bag for my girlfriend's baby shower coming in September
~ finish knitting my son's sweater that I've been working on for years
~ I'd like to make some pants for my son
~ I'm very excited to make some baby stuff, but will probably wait to find out if it's a boy or girl

And thanks JustJamie for the tutorial for maternity jeans. I'd love to try that too. Saw some other good ideas too. My list will be growing!

hahaha I totally understand.

Umm, take 2 squares of fabric the size you want your blanket to be, pin the edges together with loops of ribbon between, and sew.
